you may not like their politics, but Al-J is by far the best independent (not State controlled) Arab news outlet - what they are able to show about U.S. and western positions are generally much more open, varied, and superior to what official government controlled media in the ME can / will show. We can leverage that influence to our advantage. Try to ignore their existence or influence is foolhardy.

Lets see: Al-Jazeera never ceases to portray Americans poorly; Their coverage of Israel is quite slanted, their coverage of our troops blows chunks. They have such helpful headlines as:

“West promoting terror better than Bin Laden”

How many more have to die in this worthless war

How many cups of kool-aid did you drink today?

Lol. You need to check your sources. I'm willing to bet money you're looking at the wrong website.

It seems your'e right. But after looking further, I still feel vindicated. The articles do have a distinct bias. Articles that are patently biased agaisnt US interests. It is not a news service I am willing to pay for. And if my cable co. bundles it with my service, I plan to cancel.

Is the english version the same? I wonder what the Arabic version is saying that the English one is not?

They can't fool me. They're really sneaking in a new Air America station, under cover of the name Al Jazera.

Start broadcasting now! When the average American tunes in, he or she is probably going to get a better idea of what an Islamofascist is.

To: When do we get liberated?

Do you guys remember anything about freedom of speech? In this country you can say anything you please. If Al-Jazerra wants to spout Anti-American garbage it would be un-American to stifle them. The framers of the Constitution understood this clearly. Come out in the open and spout your garbage. At the end of the day the vast majority of people will still chose Freedom and Liberty over the next Caliphate. I for one believe it will actually expose Islamofascism for what it is. Take this from someone who occasionally watches Al-Jazerra Satellite with an Arbic friend. The style of reporting is very graphic and obviously slanted. The perpetual "Jews and Americans ruin everything" undertone will not be convincing to most over here the way it works with a largely illiterate population in Islamland. Flame away. Those who sacrifice their liberty for their temporary safety deserve neither liberty or safety.

P.S. Perhaps I am just a masochist. I am a white guy that used to love listening to the Black Power station on XM.

Problem is, historically, the militants will tap into AJZ's negative Moslem respondents first and individually assassinate them. The wise local mullahs will be told to tell the congregation that this was done for that reason by persons unknown. After that, after they have uniformly won the congregations over by ANY means, whether convincing argument or terror, then the intifada can begin!

Any population which is 10% infiltrated with hatred ... is an infiltrated population! It is generally but 3-5% of the most inspired elements of the population that rules a population.

I'm sorry but -- why is this being allowed when all the mewling about the Dubai Ports deal? This is far more insidious, far worse. And what's the babble about 'I am all for Free Speech' and 'I don't think the government should interfere.' YES, they should interfere. YES, Free Speech has its limits.

The Founding Fathers must be rolling over in their graves at the idiocy (self-defeating) that is running amok in our 'thinking.' (and I use the word loosely).
