Democrat for Senate: Kill practicing 'gays'

Candidate says incumbent Republican not advocating biblical values enough

Merrill Keiser

A Democratic candidate for the U.S. Senate in Ohio wants to make homosexual behavior a capital crime punishable by the death penalty.

Merrill Keiser Jr. is a trucker with no political experience, but he hopes to beat fellow Democrat Rep. Sherrod Brown in the May primary. The winner will try to unseat Republican incumbent Sen. Mike DeWine, assuming he wins the GOP primary.

"Just like we have laws against murder, we have laws against stealing, we have laws against taking drugs – we should have laws against immoral conduct," Keiser told WTOL-TV in Toledo.

Keiser, 61, says he's running as a Democrat because that's how he was registered the last time he voted.

The trucker, who hails from Fremont, Ohio, says there needs to be more adherence to biblical values in government, business and education – something he claims DeWine is not promoting.

"I believe that the United States has been moved in a Godless direction by the courts," he told the Sandusky Register. "To get good men on the court, we need good senators."

Some of Keiser's other positions include defense of the Second Amendment, securing U.S. borders, lower taxes to stimulate the economy, support of Israel and prayer in public schools.

Keiser told the Register the United States should make conversion to Christianity part of the war on terror to teach Muslims the error of their choice in religion.

The candidate also decries evolution, saying it is contrary to the Declaration of Independence.

Why bother with people like that?

They miss the whole point of the new testament.

Jesus came to uphold the law however he also said that all is forgiven through his sacrifice.

We are cleansed of sin once we turn away from it and repent.

People like him just don't understand Christ's forgiveness.

Quite right, but I would add that they only quote only the first two words of verse 1 ("Judge not!") while ignoring the latter part - that you not be judged.

He is saying what he believes....you can take it or
leave it...there are many who agree with him...He
also doesn't sign up with the Clintonian "Don't

is: In your heart, do you agree with his basic premise?Jake

This is so stupid. One can fight the gay activist agenda without advocating this kind of lunacy. It is a gift to the gay activist lobby on a silver platter, just like the Fred Phelps loonies...

I never said anything about the need for man-made laws - this I assume to be just another baiting tactic.

So I'm on Satan's team, huh?
OK, so are we the shirts or the skins?
You, sir, are certifiable. Have you met EBH, who believes the little 4-year-old Richmond boy who got bit by the bear should be put through a painful, lengthy rabies treatment to teach him a lesson?
You guys would make good friends.
You're the only advocates of cruelty to children that I've encountered on this forum.
No need to reply. You are a wingnut to be ignored.

What, that homosexuals should be killed for being homosexual? No.

I understand that he is saying what he believes. And I respond by disagreeing with him. That whole "right to have an opinion" thing goes both ways.

"For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them."(Book of Romans, Chapter 1, Verses 26-32.)

They are worthy of death, yes.

Jesus never rejected the morals of the torah. He still wants us and all people to follow these laws. What you don't understand is the best way to get other people to follow these laws is not to force them to follow the law, but to show them through love that following the law is truly the best way to live.

I tried to make a similiar point - you have groups like NAMBLA out there with their ACLU team of lawyers preying on young boys and a variety of other egregious offenses, but they are offended by this man. Sheesh!

You're understanding of the Christian religion is quite troubling. I could remind you of the destruction of Sodom & Gomorrah, or perhaps when the apostle Paul said homosexuals and other sinners will not inherit the Kingdom of God, or perhaps I could just remind you of Christ's repeated warning of the hell fire that awaited those many do not repent, or finally the words of Christ - those who obey the law and keep the commandments will be called the greatest in heaven.

I understand what you are saying about the Bible and I agree with you on it. The only difference in what the Bible says and what this "person" says is that God took care of the folks in Sodom & Gomorrah not another fellow human being. That to me is a huge difference. You know if the author said something different that outright put them to death then maybe our argument against what he stated could be different. Even the most right conservative person on the Earth (I am close. HAHA) would not agree with that statement IMHO. I could be wrong but I just don't think I possibly can be.

You could at least give credit to the original author of that commentary you lifted.

It was written by the Rev. William Einwechter of the National Reform Association.

It also doesn't change the fact that you are now saying that, even if we place an age restriction of say 21+ on the "rebellious child", habitual 'contempt' for parents is so evil it warrants the death penalty.

I still do not think that is a defensible position that should be supported by United States law.

So what you are saying is that a stubborn child who repeating disobey's his parents should be stoned.

As you point out... "The particular case at hand involves a "stubborn and rebellious" son who will not heed the admonitions of his parents, nor submit to their discipline..."

So you still advocate pushing forth old testament law. It's amazing how you skip over that fact of the new testament saying "thou shall not judge..."

Why should we not be able to judge you may ask? Because you are as tainted with sin as these stubborn children or homosexuals.

Be mindful of what you say.. because God's grace extends to everyone who wants it. God's law will be enforced by himself and himself alone. Not by some "lawyer" who thinks he knows it all.

It will keep him a lot quieter, but it's going to be hell on the household's supply of Twinkies.

Christ pointed out to the Jews their complete misunderstanding of the OT commands. They had sought to make the observance of the Sabbath more rigorous than God had commanded. It was not wrong to eat on the Sabbath, even if the food must be obtained by plucking corn from the ears. Nor was it wrong to do good on the Sabbath day. To heal was a work of mercy, and the Lord of the Sabbath is merciful (cf. also Jn. 5:1–18; Lk. 13:10–17; 14:1–6). In Mk 2:27, we see the Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath.
