A Democratic candidate for the U.S. Senate in Ohio wants to make homosexual behavior a capital crime punishable by the death penalty.

Merrill Keiser Jr. is a trucker with no political experience, but he hopes to beat fellow Democrat Rep. Sherrod Brown in the May primary. The winner will try to unseat Republican incumbent Sen. Mike DeWine, assuming he wins the GOP primary.

"Just like we have laws against murder, we have laws against stealing, we have laws against taking drugs – we should have laws against immoral conduct," Keiser told WTOL-TV in Toledo.

Keiser, 61, says he's running as a Democrat because that's how he was registered the last time he voted.

The trucker, who hails from Fremont, Ohio, says there needs to be more adherence to biblical values in government, business and education – something he claims DeWine is not promoting.

"I believe that the United States has been moved in a Godless direction by the courts," he told the Sandusky Register. "To get good men on the court, we need good senators."

Some of Keiser's other positions include defense of the Second Amendment, securing U.S. borders, lower taxes to stimulate the economy, support of Israel and prayer in public schools.

Keiser told the Register the United States should make conversion to Christianity part of the war on terror to teach Muslims the error of their choice in religion.

The candidate also decries evolution, saying it is contrary to the Declaration of Independence.

With the NEA "RE-EDUCATION Camps" a.k.a. public schools - with the dismal performance on the subject of history - and with leftists radicals in the universities rewriting America's history into racism, sexism, and imperialism...it isn't surprising that few people are aware of such history...who would have ever thought Vermont and Connecticut, during the founding at least, made Leviticus 18:22, law!

If killing homosexuals is such a great Christian tradition, maybe YOU can offer examples of Christ, the apostles or the early church executing them. (Since Coulter Fan cannot).

Maybe you can show us the New Testament Scriptures that you use to kill them. (after they have a fair trial by the state and all)

Surely there must be loads of examples.

I'll take it that you are still scouring "The Lost, Lost Teachings of Jesus" for his sermons rallying the faithful to kill the queers. (after a fair trial by the state, of course.)

And for the book Patmos II, Paul's forgotton writings to early Christians describing ways to try and kill the homosexuals.

Well, as you may know, Christ was crucified, but perhaps I could cite chapter and verse to ween you off this fallacious position - I can simply cite the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah and thereby show his destruction of those wicked men. I pointed this out earlier and clearly your demand has collapsed like a house of cards. Furthermore, let me quote Jesus in his own words from scripture, he cites torah, "For God commanded, saying, Honour thy father and mother: and, He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death." Here, we find Christ specifically citing the death penalty, and although it is in reference to those who would curse his parents, he approved of this one as well as the entire Law (5:17-20).

Then I'd point to Jude 1:7-8, "Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities.

As for the apostles, well, that is any easy question for their mission was to spread the gospel and teachings of Christ therein contained...for the Apostle Paul, for his day made an impressive journey from Judea to Rome itself. So, the fact that you basically fail to comprehend the teachings of faith while demanding an example of an apostle carrying out such an execution is hardly a point worth making for their mission was clear.

As for early Christians, I can cite such individuals as Saint Augustus of Hippo. I don't know how early early is, but John Calvin (14th century) most certainly did teach such a thing. Oddly, I recognize that you've never commented on my besting you previously, for you alleged that I was anti-American because, as you laughably argued, America nor the Founders sanctioned such a viewpoint...while I've shown at least two of the 13 states made levitical law on homosexuality....part of their own state laws. Mr. Jefferson didn't advocate death, but he did argue for castration.

So, I say you have been given proof, but you keep denying it. Your claim collapsed long ago and this isn't about my doctrine. This is about scripture in the Judeo-Christian Bible or Holy Bible. I truly don't despise you as much as I despise your sinful ways and your corruptness.

Are you trying to bait me, again? I suppose John Calvin or a Martin Luther just won't do...and they're too high profile. As for the situation in WACO, I view the U.S. Government as the culprit, with Janet Reno at the head, and they carried out a military attack on U.S. civilians killing over 70 men, women and children. They used APC to punch holes at key points in the compound with 20+ winds -the Houston Fire Chief compared it to a potbelly stove. Looking at the Infared from the plane that flew over head...the inventor of F.L.I.R identified what appeared to be individuals in the compound being ran over by APC...then you have in the process combustible liquid...they then fire a gas that at best would leave a person incapacitated...they fired that stuff at point blank range at women and children...they gassed them. You can see on the footage where the government clearly lied, repeatedly about not firing...there are numerous instances of fire. As for the talks on the phone...the people inside sounded a lot more plausible than any of the FBI agents with whom they spoke, but guess with Joe Biden tells the world that it was a bunch of crazies...and we're supposed to believe they all just executed themselves while the government keeps a lid on the evidence.

I would have thought by now, seeing how he is a member of Free Republic, although his conservatism is doubtful at best, that he'd understand that I don't cower before hedonist, liberal shames....I'm just waiting for him to dredge up the word religious right so that I may confirm my conservatism and religion.

On the contrary, you have NOT shown that the Christian church has practiced the execution of homosexuals.

You point to Scripture and respected Christian teachers who centuries back correctly stated that homosexuality is a sin, and punishable by eternal death.

But you have not shown ONE CHRISTIAN LEADER, including Christ himself, who advocated executing homosexuals.

Nor can you cite ONE CHRISTIAN LEADER in the early church who practiced executing homosexuals.

You cannot name (or are afraid to name) ONE CHRISTIAN CHURCH that preaches the execution of homosexuals to this day.

Face it, you are nearly alone in your view that homosexuals should be executed.
