It's easy to see why Republicans are once again turning to the lies distortions and smears of John O'Neil, with George Bush's approval rating in the thirties and Dick Cheney's in the teens they certainly cannot run on the Republican record of the past two years.

Unlike Republicans we have a record America can get behind - our values are America's values:

Democrats stand for honest leadership and open government, and only we can pass real reforms that will put an end to Republican-style corruption.

Democrats stand for prosperity for all, a balanced budget, a fair and simple tax code and investments in education that ensure every American has an equal opportunity to succeed.

Democrats stand for a health care system that works for everyone, and we believe that we have a moral obligation to make sure all Americans have access to affordable medical care.

And, Democrats stand for retirement security -- and we will make sure that a retirement with dignity is the right and expectation of every single American.

Like you, I'm proud of our values. Now we need to fight for them against the smear tactics of John O'Neil or any of the other Republican operatives. It is vital the DNC has the resources to fight these smears in 2006 if Democrats are going to win.

This guy could single-handedly start a new retrogression
