Wow, a MSM sob story about a clinton loving, San Francisco based company(Levi Strauss), leaving the clinton's "home base".

Gee Willie you must be torn about this one.

Oh that's right it's Bush's fault and not the San Francisco based Levi Straus company's fault.

I stopped buying anything Levi when they took their stance the United Way by attacking the Boy Scouts. Wrangler and Cinch for me.

Some of us quit buying Levis when we found out how lefty they were. Gungrabbing sentiments, as I recall.

Well... finally my 10+ year boycott of Levi Strauss is working. I stopped buying Levi's and went to Wranglers when LS adopted some hoky pro-homosexual company policy years ago.

Whatever was being done at this U.S. "distribution plant," I'm guessing Levi Strauss intends to save a LOT of money by moving it to one of those other three such plants in North America (I read that as "Mexico").

In other words, what we're hearing may be the "giant sucking sound" of NAFTA.

Levi Strauss Plant Closes; Hundreds Lose Jobs

Yet curiously, Americans are wealthier than ever.

I've refused to buy a Levi Strauss product for about 10 years-since they started using the promise gratuitous sex in their marketing strategy. I'm glad to see them on hard times.

This is a "distribution plant". Do they even make anything there?

Yes, lets blame WalMart. Levi has had a long run and as the old saying goes "all good things come to an end".

I remember Levi's closing plants in McAllen, Edinburg, Harlingen and San Antonio. Hundreds of workers laid off each time. It's been going on for 20 years.

Honestly, I had thought they decided to shut down this facility a couple of years ago and move their operations to other sweatshop low labor cost countries. I guess I was thinking of another plant around here.

I didn't even know there were any Levi's around. The textile industry left E. Tennessee back in the 60's. Levi's made it to the late 70's in Maryville. Sorry to hear about their loss.

Levi Strauss Plant Closes; Hundreds Lose Jobs

Hey, Willie, I did my part. Stopped buying Levis years ago when I found out they support the Brady bunch. Every time I buy some new Carhartts I call and and tell them and remind them why. They never seem to care, though. LOL!

Good. I stopped buying Levi's when they got into the leftist, environmentalist anti-conservative website business.

(E.J. Bernacki, Levi Strauss) "They've done great work. This is not a reflection on them at all. It's really just a matter of business conditions and our network being over capacity."

Translation: We can pay the illegals in California and New York less money to route the shipments... have a nice life.

We have not purchased Levi's for over 15 years because of their pro-homosexual, leftist policies. I think they were one of the first companies to give their homosexual employees "partner benefits".
