Way back when, the CB radio guys used to call St. Pete,
"Wrinkle City". Blue hairs everywhere with their cars governed to 15mph. We used to call the place, 'city of the newly wed and nearly dead'. Still apply?

No, lots of young people and now we seem to be the envy of even Tampa.

They revitalized the downtown area. Museums, a couple of college campuses (USF and SPC), an entertainment center called Baywalk, several concert venues (for young people), loads of restaurants, etc.

Downtown is a busy, beautiful, fun to go place

I'm amazed, being a native, that they were able to pull it off. There's a building boom of high priced condos downtown, they renovated the Vinoy and being downtown now is such a nice experience.

Older folks still here, but we've definitely moved beyond the "God's waiting room" designation.
