Congressmoron is the correct terminology. No need to say Congressperson, Congresswoman, or Congressman, just Congressmoron.
For example,
Dear Congressmoron:
Enclosed is a map of the Middle East....

Right. The legislation reflected ignorance about the issue and to now go forward with it when it is not needed reflects double stupidity and confirms that it was all about politics and not substance.

So self-serving and gutless, it's disgusting.

A friend used to have a saying to describe certain people's jobs: "Too honest to steal, and too lazy to get a real job."

Well, I'd say that was true of most congressmen, but I'm not sure about the stealing part, LOL.

I'm starting to think we may not even have to wait until 2007 to see an impeachment vote in the House.

"stuck on stupid "

Oh yeah. They're born that way.

Though, if this is the Hunter bill, it would be fun to see who votes it down after all their " foreign ownership is dangerous" talk.

The U.S. House of Representatives will forge ahead with a vote on blocking an Arab-owned company from managing U.S. ports, to ensure the firm sheds its U.S. holdings as promised, a leadership spokesman said on Friday.

I don't know why the House would go through with a vote on a bill that wouldn't even stand up to legal scrutiny in the U.S. Federal court system.

How ironic would it be for Congress to pass this into law by an overwhelming margin, for the President to veto it, for Congress to override his veto, and then for the U.S. Supreme Court to eventually decide by a 9-0 margin that the law is unconstitutional?

They are acting like lemmings going over a cliff. There is no rational need to go ahead with this bad legislation. All it does is further rub DP's nose in it. They promised to withdraw that should be the end of it.

I think Sabato's appraisal could just have easily been put this way:

"In a way, the port deal was a godsend for the American people ... "It allowed them to see the daylight between a courageous President, with WOT intelligence no one else has, and a kneejerk reactionary Congress in full election mode."

"In a way, the port deal was a godsend to them," Sabato said. "It allowed them to put a lot of daylight between themselves and a very unpopular president."

Yeah shame on them for actually listening to their constituents and deciding not to trust the ports to totalitarian slave trading Arab regimes who subscribe to a religion that believes all should join it or die, what where they thinking... Sigh!

Congress critters are more interested in voting for unconstitutional bills than upholding their oath of office. As to stupid, maybe some are, but more are bent on slowly slipping the reins of our government into UN hands.

Regarding the ports issue, I think only U.S. companies should run our ports. We have a "Homeland Security" department and yet we allow any foreign-owned company to operate our ports? What insanity!

And I believe that too many people that are contributing to this thread saying that it's ok for Dubai Ports World to operate our ports, are ADDLED; they are too carried away with the desire to support the Bush administration and are not thinking straight. I consider that a form of fanaticism.
