"Maybe because it encourages Islam????"

Which then can and does encourage/promote terror.

This is not rocket science, folks.

No, it's not rocket science. Bigotry is the more accepted term.

"Bigotry is the more accepted term."

If only 10 percent of Muslims want to kill Americans, that's still 180,000,000 in favor.

Islam is a political sytem as well as a religion; in general, it does not promote freedom.

This is an aside from the port deal, which I have come to believe wasn't a security threat. However, as to Islam, I'd recommend reading something from a well educated ex-Muslim, Dr Ali Sina, or Ibn Warraq:

http://www.faithfreedom.org/Articles/sina/why_i_left_islam.htm

"I vehemently reject any recognition of Islam as a legitimate religion and call for its total denunciation and ban. If seventy years ago someone called for total denunciation of Nazism, he probably would have been called an extremist, yet a decade later everyone adopted that view. Should we not learn from history? Evil must be rejected completely and without reservation."- Dr Ali Sina
