Thanks Quant,
I looked up the Jarvis Lake William and the current available year seems to be the 2001. Are you talking about any particular year?
It seems to be a pretty classic Bordeaux type blend or meritage.
I'm going to check with my local wine store and see what the price is. Online looks like about $65 a bottle or $57 if you buy 6.
With a simple grilled steak? Or some lamb?
I'd drink the wine first, then dine. Hate to ruin perfection!
All their reds are blends - the cab has merlot, cab franc, the cab franc has merlot, etc.
They even have a blending kit where you buy the varietals and blend them yourself.
You DO know that you are introducing me to a whole new kind of fun... ;o)
LOL, it's free here too. On the job I cost big bucks!
Also, if you don't have a pair of Riedel "O" Bordeaux or Cab/Merlot series glasses now is the time. Williams-Sonoma was selling them at a bargain $10 awhile back...I love these glasses, very easy to swirl & shake without breaking or knocking them over.
Do you have a B&B? Can the hubs and I just come stay and take wine lessons?
Hey! Wouldn't you love to win that wine making vacation?
"I love these glasses, very easy to swirl & shake without breaking or knocking them over."
Knocking them over and breaking them is part of the fun for me. And I'm so good at it.
