We need lots of positive news. Bad news makes for more exciting copy but amidst the crimes, corruption and follies of the human race, we see orderliness, virtue and aptitude that only gains our admiration. Its the goodness in people that in these all too cynical times, is the one thing we generally lose sight of. None of us would be around if we didn't try to make life in each generation better than it was before. In that respect, histories like Oswald Spengler's and Arnold Toynbee's that paint a dismal picture of civilization's prospects, show only a very limited part of the entire picture. There is a power of renewal in mankind that has defied the ravages of time and the pessimism of the critics. It all brings to mind that famous saying, "hope springs eternal." How happy we ought to be for our fortunate condition and in the things which we are blessed by Heaven.

(Denny Crane: "I Don't Want To Socialize With A Pinko Liberal Democrat Commie. Say What You Like About Republicans. We Stick To Our Convictions. Even When We Know We're Dead Wrong.")

Those bastards in the MSM were so incredibly negative on 9/11/2201, focusing on the two skyscrapers that fell instead of the thousands that didn't. Didn't the Sears Tower and the Empire State deserve coverage for not being on fire and not seeing thousands die?
