HOUSTON - Rusty Yates, whose former wife drowned the couple's five children in the family's bathtub in 2001, is getting married this weekend to a woman he met at church.
Yates, 41, said his former wife, Andrea Yates, is aware of his upcoming nuptials, which are scheduled Saturday -- just two days before Andrea Yates' scheduled capital murder retrial.

"Andrea has been aware of it for a couple of months, and she wishes me the best, just as I wish her the best," Rusty Yates told The Associated Press Tuesday in an e-mail.

He continues to stand by his former wife. Yates returned home from work in June 2001 to find she had drowned their five children, who ranged in age from 6 months to 7 years.
"People have to get on with their lives and I know something like this would obviously be a moment of pause and sadness for Andrea, but that is kind-of the way it is," her attorney, George Parnham, said Tuesday of Rusty Yates' upcoming marriage to Laura Arnold.
Rusty and Andrea Yates, 41, married in April 1993 after meeting in the apartment complex where they both lived. They divorced in March 2005, three years after Yates was sentenced to life in prison. A jury rejected her insanity defense in 2002 and convicted her of two capital murder charges.

Sorry, I can't see why any women would want to marry a man who obviously didn't do enough to save his kids from their killer! Sickening!
The woman kills his 5 kids, wishes him well, and that's GOOD NEWS TO HIM...?
Probably a woman who couldn't find a husband on death row.
Who cares.
Hope he doesn't keep this one barefoot and pregnant and drive her insane, too.
You're right...only morons would post on this thread.
I'm right about something? Cool! However, I never said that "only morons would post on this thread", I only said, "who cares". You posted the thread and you aren't a moron. :)
Those two sonovabitches deserved one another. The children deserved a hellovalot better.
Let's just hope this one isn't psycho and if she is, he notices this time around.
Welcome to the Club moron. (:^D)
:-))))) Glad to have you aboard!
Yeah, don't tell anyone....
Yippee! It's a moron cruise.
Oh sit right back and you'll hear a tale.....
A cruise to Club Moron? Sounds like something Dilbert would convince his boss to go on...
A tale of a fateful trip that started from this tropic port aboard this tiny ship. Five passengers set sail that day for a three hour tour.
