Why does the US need guest workers when we already have millions of people out of work, many being supported by welfare?

To take just a small instance, don't any of those refugees from NOLA who lost their homes and jobs want work?

The unemployment figures are not reliable, because they eliminate anyone who has been jobless for more than a period of months and is not actively in the job market.

No, they don't. And from what I've seen the work ethic of Latin American immigrants is far better then the indigenous welfare types.

Those people would want too much money - LOL! I admire you calling them exactly what the dictionary says they are - but now that word will have to be revised - blah, blah, blah, unless you are an American citizen. Unemployment figures - at least in Michigan, are based on a phone call poll. It has nothing to do with actuall people currently on unemployment, or whom just was released from the unemployment agency, ie, no longer being given checks.
The only reason I knew this was I did a little bit of research on the subject.
