Iran’s Ahmadinejad: West opposes our nukes to let Israel live on
Wed. 15 Mar 2006

Iran Focus

Tehran, Iran, Mar. 15 – Iran’s radical President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Wednesday that the circumstances were ripe for the “collapse of the Zionist regime” and that the West was highlighting the Islamic Republic’s nuclear program in the world arena in order to “divert attention away from the issue of Palestine”.

“The regime occupying Qods (Jerusalem) was set up to create insecurity and confrontation in our region. If one day tranquillity came about, it would mean the death of this regime”, Ahmadinejad said in the northern town of Ramyan during a speech broadcast live on state television.

“Our enemies on the one hand oppose our nation’s acquisition of nuclear energy and on the other hand want to divert the attention of other nations from the key issue of Palestine to give an opportunity to the Zionist regime to prolong its existence”, he said.

“One of the main reasons why the big powers oppose Iran on the nuclear issue is for the sake of the Zionist regime, so as to let this regime live on. But they are unaware that not only will the Iranian nation continue in the path of obtaining nuclear energy till the end, it will not even for one instant divert its attention from the issue of Palestine”.

“The regime occupying Qods [Israel] is the key to [Western] countries’ domination in Muslim lands, and with every blow at this occupying regime, it’s the pillars of the Global Arrogance (the West) that are targeted”.

Here Ahmadinejad is openly admitting that Iran's goal is to develop nuclear weapons to use on Israel. What more does the world need to agree military action is needed? To President Bush and Prime Minister Olmert: No more waiting. You'll never get Russia and China to go along and Iran will negotiate until Israel has been nuked. The time to deal with Iran is now.

China and Russia have refused to allow any sanctions against the mullahs in Iran. The Sino-Russian-Islamic alliance is being cemented and Iran appears to be the test case.

In order to agree on that, the world would need to care about whether the Jews lived or died.

Attention can be diverted for at most three days; then it moves on to the next Dem talking point. Oddly, the old issues are not forgotten, but are merely filed in their proper place according to importance. Since Iran's threats on the world can be dealt with in the course of a busy afternoon, and seems will be in about three weeks, the subject of Iran has been filed.

Correct assessment.
China will not permit the UN to take action against Iran.

And without the UN, Europe will not cooperate.

America is in an election year, and has battle fatigue.

Iran gets the bomb.

We gave Sodomy Insane more than enough time to ditch his WMDs before attacking, thanks to the Russias, Chinas, and Frances of the world. If we do the same with Iran the consequences could be disastrous.

One item that I have only recently understood is our real reason for choosing Iraq. As it sits now, Iran must go through the US lines to attack Israel. Or send nuclear weapons over our troops. In either case the sleeping tiger will be awakined. I don't see the US attacking Iran until this happens. I wonder if the Mullahs could be this anxious to welcome the 12th Imam.

Next year in Jerusalam!

Unless Israel acts.

How?

Which Middle East enemies will Israel be able to overfly to deliver an attack?

On 2nd thought, lets assume they get a pass flying to Iran since most of Iran's neighbors
wouldn't mind having Iran's nuke program whacked.
But the return trip home would also have to overfly enemies.
Bet those enemies would then try to take out Israels aircraft.
A face saving gesture on their part.

Your thoughts?

There is going to be a large glass parking lot in the middle east.

There was time when I favored this concept, too. Unfortunately, the tools for creating it are not precise enough. I mean, some of the places I do care about and cherish very much inevitably will be covered with that substance.

So now I prefer daisy cutters.

Hey great question, but Israel has already done this once flying 1000km over the desert there and back to take out the nuclear reactors, and if hostile countries try to take out Israel's aircraft then so be it. Last time Israel took on the entire Arab world it only took them 6 days to clean house!

They took out one target which wasn't 2000 km away.

Assuming they could muster enough aircraft to actually strike multiple targets at that distance, how likely are they to get back?

Please be specfic on which countries you think will allow overflights to the returning IAF.

I have no doubt that if the fate of their country was on the line that the IAF would have no hesitation about launching a one way strike, wheter it be a nuclear Dolittle raid or a truly one-way trip.

a nuclear Dolittle raid

Nuclear is the only way it could be done and retain enough IAF assets to continue defending Israel.

a truly one-way trip

If using conventional weapons that would require such a large percentage of IAF's fighters that their loss would be suicide for Israel.

Disclaimer: All my posts are of course my just my opinion. If I actually knew, I'd not be talking.

I believe Israel will overfly whatever nations are necessary without anyone's permission. There are three possibilities:

Israel->Jordan->Iraq->Iran
Israel->Syria->Iraq->Iran
Israel->Saudi Arabia->Iran

Option #3 would only be used if Israel believed the U.S. would fire on Israeli aircraft overflying Iraq.

Hey, thanks for the welcome. :) Israel purchases our F-15s and F-16s and they have quite an inventory of them. One possibility is that we are in Iraq now and would allow them to overfly Iraqi airspace. Isreali Aircraft Industries have developed a 600 gallon fuel tank for those things and this extensively extends the range. I believe they did this for one reason and that is to deal with Iran. I really do not believe any Arab country is going to be friendly to Israel and allow them to overfly their airspace. However, Israel will take care of themselves and defend themselves and I believe they have the ability to take out the entire region in a matter of days if they wanted to. I mean the 6 days war--it is referred to that for a reason.
