This base has a lot of retiree traffic to the PX. It is secure only on the flight line.
I would not say that. They specifically put the gate running barriers up and upgraded the gates post 9/11. They work both ways running in and out.
You forgot about the AMARC which is all controlled area, and larger than the base proper. And other sites on base which are equal to or higher security than the flightline.
The base gate entries have seriously been tightened up when they upgraded the gate shacks.
People running the gate used to be a regular occurence at the Craycroft gate - primarily drunks late at night on weekends who were disoriented. They changed the gate to swerve before the guard shack and put barriers in.
