New UK Law: Restaurants Must Permit Gays to Publicly Exhibit Affection

Bed and Breakfasts Must Admit Homosexual Couples

LONDON – A new UK law prohibits restaurants from preventing homosexuals from public displays of affection under pain of prosecution. The same law mandates that bed and breakfasts and hotels give rooms to same-sex couples or face legal backlash.

The Department of Trade and Industry announced the new rules Monday, which also forces retail shops to grant wedding registry lists to same-sex couples. The law expands previous provisions against discrimination in the workplace to include guaranteed access to “goods, facilities and services” for homosexuals. The new rules place homosexual disposition on an equal footing with race and gender.

Trade Secretary Alan Johnson told the Times, “I want to make sure that no one gets refused a room at a hotel or a table in a restaurant because of their sexuality.”

“I want to make sure that no one gets refused a room at a hotel or a table in a restaurant because of their sexuality.”

Why do you care,Alan?

It IS behavior, not status. I do not want to be confronted by the nauseating spectacle of 'mos doing 'mo stuff anymore than I would want to see someone change their colostomy bag at the table of a bed and breakfast.

Also, keep jamming it down our throats and eventually we'll "grow" to accept it.

Interesting choice of words, considering the topic. :)

No one from the government tells me who I have to put under my roof and what I have to wash off of my sheets.

So if you wanted to refuse black people would that be okay?

Its not really going to make much of a difference Gays usually have there own hotels anyway.

And not many people straight or gay go for overt sexual behavior anyway in public. Except Friday night at the local Kebab shop near me.

There are always some spotty teens eating each others face of, reminds me of Shaun of the dead

It's London more than anything else. I don't live there, I live in the English equivalent of Texas.

But it sure seems odd that the tories aren't more aggressive in fighting off the gun control, the hunting, bans, the gay agenda, and the rest of the PC nonsense.

Don't get me wrong, I'll always love England, but Britain needs to pull a Canada, and soon.

What's the connection between race and voluntary sexual behavior?

(hint - NONE!)

Being black is not a type of behavior. There is no comparison.

If you are a business that serves the public - and you use public services like streets, sidewalks, water, police etc... you have to play by certain rules.

You can't discriminate.

Absolutely.

How about someone brandishing weapons or making threatening gestures?

Brandishing weapons or making threatening gestures is different than just being gay.
