I read the law that was signed into our state. There is language for strict enforcement. But only vague references to students who bring in their lunch. What they want is for all the kids to be buying their lunch.

IOW, as this gets implemented, they will phase out allowing kids to bring in their food. They will have to create propaganda situations to lead into for the 'need' to do that.

If that had been the law when my daughter was in school, she would have starved! She never bought a lunch in all of the 12 years she was in school. Brown-bagged it every day!

They have been trying for years, criticizing what kids bring. Peanut allergies? In CT they banned peanut butter for the benefit of those who have peanut allergies. While it is a very legitimate concern for those who have those allergies, the governing should be the responsibility of those who have them. Let people know, and do not sit with someone who has that in their lunch, if you are that allergic.

I imagine when schools start losing money when sales of school lunches go down, they will create the following rule :

OUTSIDE FOOD IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED! ANY STUDENT WHO BRINGS IN OUTSIDE FOOD WILL BE EXPELLED!

When this happens, I hope a bunch of students start a hunger strike.
