I suspect that much of this "progress" is totally inaccurate. Much of so-called islamic progress was from their warrior cult rape of other societies. Much like when Rome conquered the Greeks and used the Greek knowledge.
The islamic cult suppresses almost all innovation. There are hundreds of millions of islamics throughout the world and the state of Utah produced more inventions last year than the entire islamic world. Truly, islam produces a static, boring, world, unless you consider honor killings, religious bigotry, stoning people for minor social infractions, intolerance of anything different, and ... did I forget, they are the embodiment of that which they condemn. How about their enslavement of all women?
Did you know that the Egyptians had the first steam engine? Of course their static culture used it only to open a gate.
Oh, almost forgot, the islamics have made great progress in the invention and development of suicide belts. They should test them at Mecca all day every day.
