I may think I like one type, but have come to love some that might look totally different than my supposed ideal.

Bottom line, getting to know a really nice person makes them a lot more attractive than the limitation of your visual ideal.

Someone can say they are attracted to sexy petite dark skinned Latin woman and might easily still end up happily married to a tall white woman who is not petite.

Such is life, such is love.

An interesting idea, but I'm not interested in just boffing liberal bimbos.

In my mid 40's now, I've had a grand total of 3 "serious" relationships out of a total of perhaps 50 women I've dated.

The vast majority of women (I've met and/or dated) out there are NUTZ! They either want a marriage proposal within 3 weeks, or all they want is lots of casual sex with no strings. Definitely NOT how I was raised.

but if I were single now at 48, I would not tolerate a ballbuster now matter how hot...life is too short and i am way traditional

i would advise younger (within reason ..say 5-15 years) are easier too....I know I will burn in hell for my candid advice but hey....i'm just laying out the path of least resistance to fellow milkstools.

LOL, I don't know about the good looking knees, but, she is a pretty woman. Kind of on the thin side, but, nevertheless, educated in Constitutional law, a lawyer, conservative, and on our side. She's a good writer. I love the gal! She puts it to the DemoRats. What else can we ask for?

Rather, I am speaking especially of Orthodox Jewish men who have become so obsessed with the three modern virtues of a real woman - large chest, long legs, slim figure - that heart, mind, even the sparkle of her eyes, count for almost nothing.

Well, I'm catholic but I'll go out on a limb & join my jewish brethren on this one. :-)

I now know that the countless men who tell me how desperate they are to find a really nice girl are lying through their teeth because what they really mean is a woman who looks like a model.

I like Rabbi Schmuley a lot, and he is discussing a very real phenomenon and problem. That being said, he makes the same mistake a lot of people do when discussing this issue - he sets up a paradigm where there are 'really nice' women and women who look like models, and that they are mutually exclusive.

They clearly are not - men want an attractive woman, but one of substance. Many, many women are both. It is not an 'either-or' proposition. Schmuley feeds a common, unfair bias with that point of view.

I have been amazed that some of the scuzziest looking bums think they're God's gift to womankind. They act like they're doing a girl/woman a favor by making a pass at her, when no woman in her right mind would be interested in the guy if he were the last one on earth.

I really think advertising has a lot to do with this. Everywhere you go, you're inundated with pictures of good looking people, as if that's the norm. It's not. Just go to your local mall at Christmastime for a serious reality check. We really need to get back to appreciating character qualities in both men and women and valuing honesty, integrity, diligence, and morals as much as we value looks. This is working both ways.

The irony is a few months ago I saw a picture of her and her fiance. He is around 5'2 and could stand to lose 50lbs.

I wasn't sure whether to laugh, cry, go beat on something, or all of the above.
