In related news, William Shatner's 75th birthday is this Wednesday, March 22!
Amazing, isn't it? And Leonard Nimoy's 75th birthday is just 4 days later.
And guess who's birthday is right in the middle of them?
But I won't be 75.

LoL...Hey now, no teasing.
Tease? Moi? Never! I'm not as much of a Trekkie geek as my best friend, who actually has her own custom-made uniform (and yes, she's very pretty, but also very married), but I can hold my own.
Now, if you're into Firefly, we can really talk....

I've never seen Firefly, but I am a huge Joss Whedon fan. My screen name is TXRoadkill because I got ran over 3 years ago. When I was recovering from the first of many back and knee operations I was stuck in bed for almost 3 months. I got totally addicted to Angel and then Buffy. Don't judge me, I was on a lot of pain meds and there was nothing else on.

I'm not a Buffy or Angel fan, but my Trekkie best friend is (although I got her into Firefly). She's tried to get me to watch Buffy - maybe one day I will.
I figure, as long as you're not into West Wing, it's okay!

"He did at least two Twilight Zone episodes - maybe three."
I remember, Nightmare at 20000 and Nick of Time. The first had him seeing a creature on the airplane wing outside his window seat, and the second was the fortune telling devil's head. Good stuff.

There were no models of anything available, so I had to carve my phaser and communicator out of balsa wood and plastic to complete the uniform. Never built a tricorder though. I went to the very first Star Trek convention in Seattle (I'm really dating myself here).
I also skipped school to go to the very first showing of Star Wars in West Seattle. There were only about 20 people in the theater. When we left, the line was about 4 blocks long. I don't think that I even attended school that week: I kept skipping school to see the movie again. LOL.

I always thought they could give Geordi some better prop than an air filter for a carborator.

Ah, but you were in high school, and my best friend is in her early 40s with four children! LOL! She also collects Star Trek memorabilia

Way back when - in the early '70s, I made a bunch of my own tribbles.
And when Star Wars came out, I saw it 8 times at the Winnetka Four Drive-In in Chatsworth. That was a fun summer.

Wait a minute... She recently made a star trek uniform? Cool! (I didn't make mine, a friend's Mom did).

No kids here, either, but best friend's got four!

I believe she had a dressmaker create the uniform for her. I remember her discussing it with me - how much the wool cost, etc. She went all-out for this uniform, which I think is either based on TNG or DS9.
Best friend and I operate on a simple principle - we're both old enough to be as child-like as we want.
