Thanks for the time, energy and courage it took to put this all together, and thanks for your service.

Great vanity!!

One crit: your blog site's URL is
http://www.reformedlibrary.com/libraryblog.htm

My husband's best friend is a former Army medic from back in the day of VN, now a veterinarian. One of my best friends is a Lt. Col. RN who ran a 300 bed trauma hospital at Bagram and who outranked the physicians. To tell you the truth, both of them are far and away better emergency medical staff than the pacifist docs who sneer at them for "participating in war". The Lt. Col. has always said we were doing humanitarian and civil rights work in Afghanistan, along with the fighting. And they are both excellent shots, as well.

You put the lie to the canard that our troops are dummies. Along with all the returned vets I have met, who have impressed me with their ability to think and to communicate.

Thank you for the post and for your service.

(In case you didn't recognize it, that was sarcasm.)

I was responding to your post #9 where you asked what a ping was. I knew someone would explain a "ping" so I tossed out BTTT as "another mystery". That means "Bump To The Top". Each time a response is made on a thread (all these responses to your post is a thread) it shows up at the top of the list of most recent responses - look for Messages and book mark it. When you scroll down you can see what people are talking about and concerned about right now!

Here's my post - I'll explain below - JimRob and JohnRob have created some of the best forum software ever:

To: Tunehead54

Tunehead, what?

What is "BTTT"?

What do you mean by "another mystery"?

Look at the last 2 lines. See the #63? That's your post number - put your cursor over it and right click and you can copy a direct link to this post. Time date and poster is self-explanatory.

Note though if you put your cursor over the poster's name - yours in this example - you should see the date the poster signed up at FR - so you'll know whether they are a "newbie" or an old hand. Careful what you say to "old hands" if they've been around since 1998 or earlier you WILL lose a pi$$ing match with them. Trust me. ;-)

Private reply is for contacting the poster only - its used for any number of purposes - but if you send one it'll show up in their mail box. No one else will see it.

See the "54"? That shows the post number I was responding to. You can just click on that and work back through who said what in response to a particular post.

See "View Replies" - you can right click on it to open a window/page and view what everybody had to say about this particular post.

Lastly, the "Abuse" button. This sends a message to the ever vigilant "Admin Moderators" who tirelessly monitor "FRee Republic" making sure that my posts to "Breaking News" are promptly deleted or move to "Chat" or "The Smokey Backroom".

Actually - if you see an abusive, violent, racist, whatever post just click there and explain to the AM why you think it should be pulled. If you ever have second thought even about what you posted - hit the abuse button and the AM will pull it for you.

Please only use the abuse button for serious issues - not when you simply disagree with a poster or when you get a response (like this one) when you get far more information than you asked for! ;-)

BTW (By the way) - Great post! ;-)

I am truly humbled by your sense of duty, honor and country.
It is because of men like you that we sleep peacefully in our beds at night and we owe you honor and support above all else.

I do all that I know of and can do to defend our defenders. If you need anything let me know.

Putting on a uniform doesn't get you a free pass in a political debate. Indeed, putting on a uniform should disqualify you from partisan political debates.

And if this is the best defense you can mount for Bush, the administration is weaker than I thought.

NEWSFLASH: I have NEVER worn a uniform -- unless you count my Brownie uniform when I was in 3rd grade.

What should a President of a democracy do, easy: whatever is best for all of the people.

Wait a minute, I don't even agree with my mother as to what is best for everyone.

PRICELESS!

Excellent post.
