Having watched the Animal Cops shows, I've never seen an episode involving violent cruelty to animals, of the type that would presage violence to humans. For example, teenagers or young adults abusing animals. I've seen countless episodes of malnourished animals, often very poor uneducated people who get arrested for not getting their pet veterinary care.

IF they are privately funded that tempers my reaction somewhat. IF they are coming out of public funds, they do noble work but I would spend the money protecting kids from predators, etc.

True, a lot of the people they show are guilty of improper care, but I have also seen quite a few where they are truly violently abusive. Most malnourishment cases are closed just through the owner surrendering the animal...

At the end of most of the shows (at least during certain parts of the season), they make requests for donations to help pay for the police work and medical care they show....
