WHEELING — The Iraqi people ultimately must “determine their own fate,” and “as they stand up, we’ll stand down,” President Bush told an audience in downtown Wheeling Wednesday.

I am posting this which was in our local paper. I am trying to find another article, which was in another section of the morning paper, but may not be on the web.

Also, there is a link on the upper right corner of the website that has pictures of his visit.

Thought you would all like to see them

Crowd Praises Bush’s Speech

By ADAM TOWNSEND

WHEELING — Many people who attended President Bush’s Wednesday appearance in Wheeling said they weren’t sure what to expect from the speech and subsequent question-and-answer period, but several area residents said afterward that they were impressed with the chief executive’s statements and responses.

“I want to know if he has any plans for addressing the congressmen who so negatively portray the war in Iraq,” said St. Clairsville nurse practitioner Janel Trovato-Vass. She had her question for the president carefully written on a Post-it note she held as she waited to enter Capitol Music Hall. The line — dotted with the white caps of Marines in dress uniforms and the square-patterned camouflage of the Air National Guard — stretched for a few blocks as Secret Service officials checked everyone with metal detectors.
