One can take coq10 apart from the red yeast OR beta sitosterol is great, almost as effective as red yeast rice without the decrease in coq10.

It's cultural across the board with poor people. It's instinctual, to put on weight I guess. I am not making a lot of money right now and I buy grains, fruits and veggies at Whole Foods. I don't spend a lot either. I also go to a grocery store for lower income folks and yes the meat area is very busy and buying the most starchy kinds of foods. Some people have so little money, they buy a big bag of rice and beans, the WORST things to eat imho because of the low quality, so low I think it's only suitable for pigs.

I used to notice among my elderly patients that those who ate the most varied diets and cleaned up their plates, generally were the healthiest, looked the youngest and had the most vim and vigor.

Are you suggesting this could be harmful even in the 3:1 ratio?
A big reason to take omega-3s is to counteract the imbalance of 3s to 6s in our diet so it doesn't make much sense to take 6s with your 3s. You almost certainly getting plenty of 6s in your diet (probably too much) - you don't need any more.

Next time you buy a bottle, I would switch to just omega-3s.

Nordic is excellent!
They really help reduce the "fish burps"! Yuck. Those are nasty.

I go to the Safeway here where they have lean stew meat almost always reduced for quick sale. I chill it, then chop it up, add a little veg oil and seasonings and have the best beef for making hamburgers. For flavor it beats regular hamburger meat by a mile and there is virtually no fatty waste.

and plasma triglyceride levels.

I take the fish oil for this reason. I was diagnosed with very high triglycerides along with my Type II diabetes.

It seems to have helped lower the levels somewhat, but I'm also on medication for that purpose so not sure which is more beneficial.

lol- Actually, if you order the right stuff, a sushi meal with miso soup and a salad are usually like 12 to 15$. Of course, if you want all that exotic stuff, it goes way up quick!

Meta-analysis is only as good as the studies reviewed, so I don't think it means all that much.

Does Omega 6 have any benefits on its own?

This article is just more proof that the Death Culture controls medical research.

"I want to know who funded this study."

The drug manufacturers, of course.

"...how expensive?..."

Not cheap. This stuff is pharmaceutical grade; a daily dose is the equivalent of eating 10lbs of salmon. I take 3 caps of the oil (Res-Q 1250), 2 caps of the red rice yeast (LDL-X), and 500 mg of Niacin TWICE a day, in the AM before breakfast and in the PM before dinner.

The same result has happened with my brother, my mother, and my wife. In my mother's case, a carotid artery blockage simply melted away.

I've been taking Nordic Naturals for 3 months and have been feeling much better so I'll go with what works for me. There are studies that suggest everything under the sun, according to who pays for them.

I can probably get a study together that shows smoking increases longevity. Given the right conditions, you can draw any conclusion you like from data.

Hence, my skepticism about experts.
