A serious crackdown on employers of illegals would be far more effective than rounding up the illegals. Dry up the jobs and the illegals will deport themselves at their own expense. Stiff fines and serious jail time for the employers.

Agreed! Along with enforcing the borders. As a result, we would suddenly see less congestion of our roads, fewer overcrowded classrooms, an excess of affordable housing, accessible hospital emergency rooms, etc. In its absence, we have every city and state wanting to issue more bonds (taxes) for everything from schools to cleaning up the water supply along the Mexican border. It's not rocket science--where there is a will, there is a way. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be the will amongst our politicians.

"Encircle the rally. Move the herd back to Mexico."

Took the words right off my keyboard...

I agree that border enforcement should accompany rounding up and jailing the employers. Put those employers and any illegals taken into custody in normal circumstances in tent city jails along the border. Put them to work building the fence.

I am here in LA waiting for a race riot... Scares the living hell out of me...

Keep your weapons handy. You may need them. This has all the trappings of 1992 all over again.

CNN had some of these outlaws on TV today. To a person, they all said they had a right to be in the USA because they were doing work that Americans wouldn't do.

CNN parroting George W. Bush? Now I know we're living in the last days.

Go the website of the Communist party - USA.

They are the biggest boosters of illegal immigration.

Years back a group of citizens protested the employment of Illegal aliens by a supermarket in California. The CP organized a counter-protest and attacked them.

No I am VERY serious about this and we all know what a non-speaking illegal looks like by now.

if you saw my 83-year old father, a landscaper , who was born in the United States of America (and so was my mother, and so were their parents and grandparents and great grandparents, etc.,) you might mistake him for an illegal... he speaks English and Spanish... he speaks fast... he speaks with a kind of accent... but he is an American born and raised here by American parents... and he's proud of it, too...

a lot of his clients assume he's from Mexico... one even asked him if he were going to work on Cinco de Mayo or take the day off... my Dad replied, "Why would i celebrate Cinco de Mayo? I celebrate Memorial Day, Fourth of July and Veterans' Day."

And you're right a hop, skip, and a jump away from WV. Is there anywhere left?

Cinco de Mayo on Olvera Street should be a real blast this year.

It would be much more satisfying to gas it and incarcerate it.

I almost fainted when I heard CNN doing that yesterday.

One question I've had today about this particular march:

What percentage of this crowd would have been in downtown LA today anyway?

My guess is that the percentage would be very high.

The number one activity in the Latino community in LA on a Saturday is to gather downtown.
