This is a very sad story. You have worked miracles.
My daughter has brain damage with a severe speech and language impairment (apraxia).
We just had an independent evaluation of her. She is advanced in math, and I am totally not worried about math.
So far, she is anywhere for 40-60% on reading & writing. She is in 3rd grade and keeping up.
However, the startling results for me were in auditory processing. She has low phonemic awareness and phonemic blending, low auditory discriminiation, and low auditory processing memory.
I'm buying a software program called Earobics to help with some of the auditory problems.
There's lots of programs available (FastForword, Lindamood-Bell) and they are all expensive. I don't mind paying if we get results, but I don't know if they are worth it.
I'd appreciate suggestions. The independent evaluator suggested FastForWord, but it seems to be inconsistent in helping kids.
