There have actually been several tries in the Congress but as per usual it didn't make it out of the Congress and it has actually been reported in the news. Amazing how "SOME" Conservatives jumped all over Bush about the Port deal without any real information but yet this is actually a matter of National Security but no one seems to be outraged about Illegal Immigrants.
I'm opposed to the port deal too, but I am absolutely stunned at the lack of calls by elected officials on the GOP side to make the border illegal-immigrant proof. If we want to raise the number of Mexicans allowed in under this or that classification, by all means debate that! But no one, no one at all ever, should come into the U.S. illegally.
