CNN’s “Reliable Sources” Asks “Are Media Turning Against War in Iraq?”
CNN/Newsbusters ^ | March 26, 2006 | Noel Sheppard

Howard Kurtz of CNN’s “Reliable Sources” (hat tip to Crooks and Liars) spent a lot of time Sunday addressing the firestorm started this week by radio host Laura Ingraham over negative media reports out of Iraq. One of Kurtz’s guests was Lara Logan of CBS who was clearly not pleased with these assertions. In fact, Logan, reporting from Iraq, appeared rather defensive (video link to follow).

This is classic. Lara tries to shoot the messenger.

^^^^^^^^^^^“Well, I think it's outrageous. I mean, Laura Ingraham should come to Iraq and not be talking about what journalists are doing from the comfort of her studio in the United States, the comfort and the safety.”^^^^^^^^

She did! Whoops!

The arrogance of these people, I think they are finally realizing the pandora's box that they opened is taking it's toll on them.

The media was uncomfortable about being pro-American since day 1 of the war, but they were afraid to appear anti-American so they stayed neutral. Now that public opinion is more split, the media is showing their true anti-American colors.

Here is an example of their idiocy: today's "Dayton Daily News" has a front page story about "violence in Iraq," includes 69 dead. Well, how many do you think died in Zimbabwe or almost any African state in a given day?

Then there is a bullet-point setup of EXACTLY where those died; then there was on yet another page an editorial "cartoon" about Cheney answering the question, "Good news about Iraq? My son isn't serving and Halliburton stock is up."

What's so amazing is that in doing this crap, the media completely misses the bigger story. It's like focusing on "wowie-zowie, lookit JEB Stuart's cavalry raid in PA. Guess the North is losing the war," just before Lee is devastated at Gettysburg" . . . BECAUSE of Stuart's stupidity.

Are Media Turning Against War in Iraq? Yes, on March 26, 2003.

Actually, from the time it became a possibility, well before then.

I don't think the media is turning against the war in Iraq.

They made that turn years ago.

Yes, on March 26, 2003.

You're a week late.

Actually, they turned against *any* action by the US military to defend the nation as of January 20th, 2001, but that's another story ...

Is CNN turning against it????

When were they ever for it???

To that question, as asked, I'd be forced to answer "No."

You're not talking about the same CNN that got priority in its coverage from Saddam because he knew he could use them to try to shape international opinion, are you?

Asking if the media is turning against the war, is like saying I think the NY Times may be turning against President Bush.

The MSM was blinded by hatred and bias due to extreme left-wing ideology a long long time ago.

Well, how many do you think died in Zimbabwe or almost any African state in a given day?

Could read "Well, how many do you think died in Detroit or LA or DC or almost any blue state big city in a given day?

and if there is one thing the left-wing elistists at the MSM don't like, its being accused of anything.

They always believe they are above scrutiny and walk on water.

“Are Media Turning Against War in Iraq?” This is a "rhetorical" question, no? I mean, there is no room left for turning. Contrary to the coach and his 110% effort there is nothing past 100%.
