Students Skip School in Houston To Protest Immigration Plan

Hundreds of northwest Houston high school students walked out of class Monday to protest in the streets over efforts in Congress to crack down on illegal immigrants, KPRC Local 2 reported.

Students at Eisenhower High School started their protest march at their school, located at 7922 Antoine, and planned to end it at Interstate 45.

The House passed measures that would make being an undocumented immigrant a felony and erect a 700-mile fence along the 2,000-mile U.S.-Mexico border.

Many of the students said immigration reform hits close to home and they believe that it would be unfair.

"This is a country of immigrants. How are you just going to make a law and tell them to leave? You can't just do that," a student said.

"We're the hardest working people in the country and they're trying to take us away," another student said.

Lawmakers said the stricter regulations are necessary to improving homeland security and economic strength.

The students said the decision to walk out of school was made Monday morning.

Students at four Dallas-area schools also walked out of class in protest.

The Senate takes up the issue Tuesday.

This is right on the nose. Except for the "make a law" part. We have those already. Now we are up to the "telling them to leave" part.

And yes, we can do that.

""We're the hardest working people in the country and they're trying to take us away," another student said."

They went from "doing jobs American's won't do"...to "we're the hardest working people in this country"..

What total BS..How dare they make such an outrageous claim.

Sorry most reports I hear refer to them as "undocumented workers". You can almost tell someone's politics by the term used.

The Antiwar/pro-Terror movement is trying to link up with the Pro-Illegal movement.

all by herself?

Yes...I was wondering where her parents were. I wouldn't allow my kid to stand out there in this neighborhood unescorted, especially a female, it's just asking for trouble. I am big enough to take care of myself but we keep my front office door locked at all times for security, and I use an intercom phone to speak to people rather than opening the door (we work strictly for the military and don't deal with the general public). The Nazis at Corporate won't let me carry a gun on the premises : )

How she even had the nerve to do that at her age is unbelievable.

Why aren't folks bold enough to protest what's described in this posting? Here's a potentially astonishing related thread which details how FLAGRANTLY anti-gringo Mexico's immigration laws are compared to our own:

Can you believe it? Why doesn't the media cover this information (yet)? That would set the race-baiters still in their tracks! Couldn't we stop the amnesty juggernaut if we figured out how to expose how racist MEXICO's own immigration laws are, maybe through a massive letters to the editor campaign and calls to talk show hosts and our politicians?

Just as I suspected....children of illegals worried about losing Mom and Dad. Man, I'm tired of this!

You're right. Plus, Hannity and Rush should cover it.

Any idea how to get them to? I e-mailed Hannity's website on Friday. As for Rush, I'm not a subscriber nowadays.

Post your comments to Mark Levin's thread. He's on the radio now and might pick it up.

Well, according to the local ABC affiliate, there were only 100 or so who participated in this walkout.
