The gap between rich and poor is stunning. I have heard that the kind of socialist safety net that we have here in the US does not exist to the same extent in China.
The thing that bothers me is that China's aborting so many girl babies over the last twenty years or more is creating a surplus of young men.
What might a dictatorship do with so many excess young men?
Heck, they're as likely to invade a country to steal brides and concubines as to take land.
Or they (the surplus males) can go to foreign country like Canada, US, South Africa, Australia study hard, work hard and find wives there. In fact this is going on right now. Why must everything mean war?
