A Day in the Life of President Bush - (photos) - 3.28.06

This morning, President Bush announced from the Oval Office at the White House, the resignation of long time friend, and 5 year Chief of Staff, Andrew Card, and the appointment of Josh Bolten, director of the White House Office of Management and Budget, to that position. Later, following a Cabinet Meeting, the President made a statement in the Rose Garden, surrounded by Cabinet members, about the progress in the government of Iraq, and the commitment of his administration to work with their counterparts in Iraq in the future.

In news of significance to all conservatives, both Lyn Nofziger (81), Reagan press secretary, and Caspar Weinberger (88), Reagan's Secretary of Defense, died in the past 24 hours. Both men served with distinction and will be missed.

Just got verification that I am absolutely right about it.

When someone is notably nasty about the President, I don't usually forget.

Peach........YOU get the toaster. :)

"Back in the day when Nixon got that 24%, the MSM didn't CREATE news with polls."

Ya, you're right --- the msm just created the news, period!!!!!!

I agree, Gretchen. There is great pain in his face.

He must be such a good man to have for a friend!

That one is graphite pencil and white charcoal.

I have the same problem with my scanner--especially because the drawing are larger than the scanner (that one is 20" x 26"). I have to scan them in section by section then paste them together on the computer.

By the time everything is where it should be, the finished picture is sometimes a little blurry.

I get around this by saving my progress frequently, closing the editing program, then re-opening it. I can't explain why, but doing that helps maintain the resolution of the picture.

I also try to keep the scanned sections as large as possible--around 150kb--when I'm working with them. The finished picture is usally 400kb. I shrink that for posting purposes, then use the editing program to sharpen the image until it looks as much like the original as possible.

Whew :)

You're welcome, OWF. I don't believe we will ever see congressional term limits, but they are much needed, in my opinion. Sigh.

You drew these? They are stunning! I hope you're finding a way to turn your art into something more people can share.

Oh..........I hope he does write one. It will/would be remarkable, I think.

And you could add it to your attic. :)

Sadly, it seems a lot of today's writers have the same capacity for good writing as Hollywood has for making interesting movies.

Many of today's novelists seem to deliberately target their stories for the big screen.

Well that's the truth. My husband and I were talking about trusty old Walter Cronkite the other day, and how he completely lied about Viet Nam (specifically Tet), and most of us didn't find out until much later.

They had a monopoly back then that they don't have now. Perhaps it's precisely because of that, that they use polls to foist their lies on us. Not as easy to spot by the general public.

I've picked up probably 100 books or more at the library in the last six months that I started to read and just had to put down after the first chapter or two.

The last book I truly adored was The Kite Runner; one of the best books I've read in a long time.

You have such good writing skills and the ability to communicate one can see your professional skills yet you still manage to keep the human aspect.

Hi snugs. Thank you so very much.

I hope your dad is doing as well as can be expected. Tell him for me that March has been a cold, wet month here in Los Angeles. It's been chilly and raining off and on since last night. I love this weather.

Oh, we NEED congressional term limits SO badly!

There has to be some way to get rid of the Byrds and the Kennedys. They are corrupting the whole system..........and you are right.........unbalancing the balance of powers that the Founding Fathers intended.

And you could add it to your attic.

Grin...I would indeed. I'm looking forward to the books from the Bush admin. figures who had genuinely key roles on 9/11 and afterwards. We need to know their perspectives for the historical record.

Strategery is on my birthday wish list. And Sammon is one of the few reporters I actually trust these days.
