Boehner hints a back down on 'amnesty'
The Washington Times ^ | March 29, 2006 | Charles hurt

Posted on 03/29/2006 7:15:28 AM PST by surely_you_jest

House Majority Leader John A. Boehner refused yesterday to rule out compromising with the Senate to expand the House border security bill to include a guest-worker program or provisions that opponents call "amnesty." "Let's wait and see what the Senate can produce," he told reporters yesterday when asked whether House Republicans would reject the Senate Judiciary Committee's proposal to allow the estimated 12 million illegal aliens now in the U.S. to seek citizenship after paying a fine.

Talk radio half-hour news is saying Senator Frist plans to present his version an immigration bill today. It has NO amnesty provision.

Mr. REID. Mr. President, sometime tomorrow, hopefully, or the next day, we are going to move to immigration. There is widespread acknowledgment that our immigration system is badly broken. There is a crisis at our borders, and we need a comprehensive strategy to address it. ...

I have received assurances from the majority leader that it will be in order for Senator Specter to offer the committee-reported bill as the first amendment to Senator Frist's border security bill. That amendment will be a complete substitute, so if it is adopted by the full Senate, it will completely supersede the Frist bill.

This is no different than we handle all other pieces of legislation. Based on those assurances, we have consented to vitiate the cloture vote--that happened earlier today--and allow the debate to move forward.

Under the process we have agreed upon, the foundation of the Senate's upcoming debate on immigration policy will be the bipartisan committee bill.

25 . LEGISLATIVE TRANSPARENCY AND ACCOUNTABILITY ACT OF 2006

The only thing that happened in Illinois that year was the destruction of a great conservative and remarkable candidate, Jack Ryan, by the endemically corrupt, envious, POS, George Ryan-Tim Edgar-style RINOs that control that state's Republican Party.

I mean, I've been here forever and a year, and I could probably count on one hand (okay, we'll make it a foot for easier understanding) the number of abuse reports I've ever filed.

Then again, I usually don't need to run to Mommy and Daddy when kids are being mean to me. [sniff]

Curiously enough, I didn't use either of those insults on this thread. Care to try again?

Maybe this time you could actually post something topical and discussion worthy instead of just more assinine insults.

I know this may be a bit of an intellectual stretch for you, so we'll start slowly.

We are a Nation of Laws. Illegals broke those laws getting here. Giving them an Amnesty rewards them for breaking the Law. We saw that with Reagan's Amnesty, it didn't work. We were flooded with even more illegals. Doing the same and expecting a different result will bankrupt us completely.

So, now... your turn. Try and formulate a cogent response as to why forgiving criminal behavior is the "conservative" thing to do.

Take your time. I realize this may require you to use a dictionary to look up some of the big words...

My message to Congressman Joe Schwarz:

I am a lifelong Republican. I contribute money and walk the streets at election time to get out voters.

I AM VERY DISMAYED!!!

If the Republican leadership/President pass some worthless immigration reform bill designed to kiss Mexican rears and get votes, you folks are going to have a real problem.

This betrayal may result in a real civil war. We are armed and we are not going to let the RINO's sell out our country to a bunch of criminals who come here to exploit the situation financially and have no intention of learning English and becoming Americans. They think they are recapturing what is their land stolen from them by us.

We have a right to protect our homes against invaders whose intent is to steal from us and do us harm. We have that same right to protect our national home from invaders no matter what the elected vote whores think will line their political pockets.

We ARE the militia and we are armed under the 2nd amendments protections and we will not tolerate this illegal invasion.

Tell Bush and the other wimps that if they thought they were in trouble before, just wait. They will loose to the rats because the rats will get all the legal Mexicans and all the illegals with fake Id's to vote for them with promises and lies. If that is the illegitimate outcome of 2006, we have no government and we patriots will reestablish a government that protects our people and their rights.

The requirements below are the only acceptable one. Anything else is treason.

No amnesty. Register & get a 5 year temp work permit. After that go home and get in line. Failure to register? Felony

Hiring unregistered illegals? Felony.

Wages? Must pay immigrants on temp permit/legals standard prevailing wage for industry.

The real problem here is jobs. Ruthless employers can't find Americans to fill the jobs because they want to pay illegal immigrant wages.

These are the builders, developers, chicken packers etc. etc. that do not "pass on" the saving of low wage employee. They pocket the Ill gotten gains nd keep real Americans in the unemployment line.

It's not Xenophobia, dummkopf.

We're way past that.

It's Xenonausea.

But what makes me even more sick is the fifth column within the Republican Party-those faux conservatives-that have enabled this colossal betrayal to take place within our borders.

and the great majority of not "just" republicans, but the American people, disagree with the foolishness of allowing more illegals into this country.

The Republican Party and the country is going to be on the losing end of this debate if it continues in it's current direction.

"Better no bill than a guest worker amnesty."
__________________________

Wrong!

If they have to give to get a FENCE built that stops future illegals then it's worth it. Nobody is shipping 11-15 million people out of here, so the key issue is how to stop the FUTURE flow of illegals.

I actually have a guest worker plan that I believe most here would accept.

Simply restrict guest workers to male workers only. No women, no kids, no families. In addition to that, any employer who hires them must cover their medical insurance so the taxpayer doesn't get saddled with it.

I've never hit the abuse button, not once. You can go right ahead and make an idiot of yourself, for all I care. You're actually being fairly effective in agitating anti-amnesty (or whatever euphemism is deemed less inflammatory) sentiment. In fact, I think that's actually your purpose and intent. So have at it, but you won't last much longer at this rate.

We already have a "temporary guest worker" program. We have NAFTA designations. Anything new would undermine the current provisions. Mexico's government could bolster their economy and trade relations and join the 27 nations that participate in the Visa Waiver Program. those countries are:
Andorra
Iceland
Norway

Australia
Ireland
Portugal

Austria
Italy
San Marino

Belgium
Japan
Singapore

Brunei
Liechtenstein
Slovenia

Denmark
Luxembourg
Spain

Finland
Monaco
Sweden

France
the Netherlands
Switzerland

Germany
New Zealand
United Kingdom
