House Majority Leader John A. Boehner refused yesterday to rule out compromising with the Senate to expand the House border security bill to include a guest-worker program or provisions that opponents call "amnesty." "Let's wait and see what the Senate can produce," he told reporters yesterday when asked whether House Republicans would reject the Senate Judiciary Committee's proposal to allow the estimated 12 million illegal aliens now in the U.S. to seek citizenship after paying a fine.

Please indicate the date and time of any phone calls or other communication transmissions that Bush gave to law enforcement to ignore the law. If you can't find the communications then point out the law enforcement officer(s) that make this claim that Bush told them not to enforce the law. Sometimes the "informed sources" on both sides of this debate are completely wrong. The media is interested in stirring the pot, the unions are mucking around in this issue, and there is a presidential election in Mexico in July. There are lots of external forces and players in this, and it is simply too early to either claim victory or write this off as a sell-out.

So, I am waiting to see what happens.

It's kind of hard to get to the 10th floor without starting at the lobby level. My conversation has nothing to do about Bush's Action or Inaction but is about the claim that Bush has a "policy" for law enforcement is to ignore the law. For the past 10+ years here in Texas we have had round-up after round-up and it just never seems to stop so to claim that it's "Bush's Policy" to allow law breakers is a bit disingenuous. Now if one wants to claim that he should do something different or crack down harder then that would be an acceptable argument.
