The Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies announced that former President Bill Clinton will be keynote speaker and accept its "Louis E. Martin Great American" Award for his commitment to civil rights throughout his political career at its Annual Dinner, April 11 at the Hilton Washington and Towers.
"We are pleased to have President Clinton join us at our dinner," said Togo D. West, Jr., President and CEO of the Joint Center. "He has been a tremendous fighter for justice and equal rights for African Americans and other minorities. His unwavering support for civil rights and human rights has improved the quality of life for millions of Americans, as well as for countless millions of people around the globe. We take great pleasure in honoring his many achievements and his commitment to public service."
Each year, the Louis E. Martin Award honors a recipient who has promoted racial harmony, while supporting and enacting policies that have made a difference in American society. Martin was an advisor to Presidents Kennedy, Johnson and Carter, and a founder of the Joint Center. Previous award winners are former President Jimmy Carter, boxer Muhammad Ali, and lawyer and civil right leader, Vernon Jordan.
PASS THE BUCKET!!!!!!!
Yes, how many presidents give interns an equal opportunity like Monica had? A real hero to equal rights.
He should get an award for....treason, adultery, lying, incompetence, bribery, fraud, and..and......but civil rights??? Well, he was our first BLACK president, after all...
Didn't Togo West have a high military position during the Clinton administration?
Mega barf indeed. I don't think a bucket is big enough, a 50 gallon drum maybe, but a bucket is WAY too small.
Where is that poor girl's parents?
How about the civil rights of his supposed illegitimate son Danny? Will he get some of Clinton's Dubai speaking bucks?

Hey wagglebee, is that "Welcome to Arkansas" a real photo or has it been Photoshopped? I'll die laughing if it's for real.

"That's a good looking mummy . . ."
IIRC, he was Sec. of the Army.
Awww, I was hoping it was for real. I would have driven all that way just to see the sign for myself. :)
BJ gets another trinket to show his bimbo du jour!
I'd like to give Billy Bob everything that he deserves, but I think I'll leave that up to God. (Hint), It's not going to be pretty.
Another Black Arkansan who suffered from mental illness, Ricky Ray Rector, became world famous upon his execution in 1992. Then Governor Bill Clinton left the campaign trail in January of that year to sign the warrant for Rectors execution. Rectors mental capacity was such that when taken from his cell as a dead man walking he told a guard to save his pie. He thought he would return to finish his dessert. I try to remember this story when I am told that all Black people love Bill Clinton or that he should be considered the first Black president. Clinton wasnt Black when Rector needed him. He was just another politician who didnt want to be labeled soft on crime.
He was America's first black president. The media started calling him that about the same time he committed perjury in a sexual harassment law suit concerning blow jobs from a certain pepper pot in the White House.
