I have no doubt that there are many fine Mexicans. The problem is there are dozens of countries with many fine people! Who makes the call that only 12 million Mexicons are allowed US citizenship? We need fairness in the immigration mix and the only way is to secure our borders first and then determine who is allowed in and who is not.

wouldn't it be a good idea to copy, front and back, your parents' SS cards, insurance cards, list of medicines they are taking, ailments, allergies, or anything else the hospital/doctors may need to help your parents, or anyone else you are responsible for

Any Mexicon who WILL assimilate as the current caller suggests should. I don't think quotas work. But the complaints and the problems DON'T come from the assimilators. The problems come from the terrorists, criminals who by definition won't Assimilate. The better we do in teaching of the American ideals, the better we will be and then we don't have to worry with "how many". The problem recurs with different groups about every 30 years or so...

I agree with most of your premise, the problem is not HOW people can assimilate, and become "good" Americans. The problem is how do we enforce our laws to protect the rights of those who WANT to become good Americans and are doing it the right way. How do we protect them from being pushed to the back of the line while we deal with those who chose to ignore our laws and came here illegally. Not many simple solutions, but we need to make some tough decisions.
