He will not be able to MAKE people implement the enforcement provisions

I'd call the DUmmies bluff. They were the folks who wanted a Unionized BICE. How about we governed BICE the same way we do the CIA. No funny stuff and lots of technology and computers and people who WANT to use them.

Hi Rod!

Victor Hanson Davis article on illegal immigration:

Assimilation is the real debate

By Victor Davis Hanson

http://www.JewishWorldReview.com | Hypocrisy and paradoxes abound when it comes to illegal immigration.

Even the fiercest critics of illegal immigrants in the American Southwest never seem to check first the legal status of those who fix their roofs, mow their lawns or wash their dishes.

This past week, thousands of Hispanic demonstrators, fearful of strict new immigration laws, chanted "Mexico" and for some reason waved the flag of the country they fled from and most certainly do not want to return to.

Increasingly, Latin American governments have elected vocal anti-American politicians — even as they count on their citizens leaving for the U.S. in record numbers.

The Mexican government seeks to entice wealthy retired Americans to build homes south of the U.S. border, even as it exports its own homeless to this country. What a cynical mindset: "You take our Mexican poor, we'll take your American rich."

I appreciate it.

Opinions vary, I see the wall/fence as an investment in stopping terrorism along a very porous border, you are right they may try other areas but we can at least stop the easy illegal entry. Germans and Irish became Americans what are the Mexicons becoming. There is no melting pot with them at all they want Calif. back, not comparing the same thing.

They only do the work Americans won't do. What Americans might that be? Perhaps the ones on welfare? As long as we have one able bodied person on welfare who is capable of picking a tomato we should not need immigrant labor.

Let's get real here. All these folks who say they use immigrant labor because they can't get Americans to do the job are somewhat suspect IMHO. I believe the vast majority of people who hire illegals do so because it's cheaper. And I don't believe for a minute that these employers don't know they are illegal. All they have to do is check on the social security number the employee gives and they would know it's false. Quite honestly, it would not surprize me in the least to find out they are withholding social security from the wages and keeping the money for themselves.

I quite like the idea of either billing the country of origin for any medical treatment given and the cost of these kids in schools. If the country of origin doesn't pay the bills just withhold foreign aid.

Why wait so long? Is there something pending that will affect it?

Assimilation is a huge problem.
The rats are telling all the third worlders that they don't have to assimilate it's all right to come over here, take up all our social services and then try and take over our country. Sounds like an invasion to me.

I did not realize how MUCH the wind blew until I left, and then went back for a visit. (I do miss seeing tumbleweeds go by.)

I know....people who visit here are just amazed that we don't really notice it blowing so much. As for the tumbleweeds, they're "cute" till they get caught under the car and make that awful scritching sound going down the road! LOL!
