In follow up, I believe Revere and Atticus were fellow freemasons and had to know each other, which makes his ommission particularly bothersome to me.

Oh, he was undeniably talented, but he wasn't the person he was trying to be or the person his public relations team tried to make him.
His mother, who gets a lot of bad press because of her Black Panther background, was(is) actually a pretty middle class gal who sent young 2Pak to ballet school. So he was a middle class guy and was way out of his depth with the boys from LA and Queens who were (and are) real gangsters.
Did you know that the first time 2Pak got shot he was trying to yank the piece out of his baggy draws and shot one of his own testicles off? Ouch! Eech! Ouch!

Of course, when I was in jr high, and a girlfriend and I dyed our hair hotpink and cut arm holes in hefty bags and wore those as shirts, they sent us home also.
Were you on the way to a Code Pink rally or just protesting the senate's immigration bill?

Actually, 'Pac was far from middle class. Afeni moved he and his sister to Baltimore, where they lived in the worst neighborhood. Yeah, he went to the Baltimore School For Performing Arts, (along with Jada Pinkett), but had to drop out due to his moms' crack addiction. He then moved to the west coast and lived for a while homeless in Marin City...he didn't even have a place of his own until after he joined Digital Underground, (and "Same Song" is STILL a bomb track!)
The best book about him was written by music critic Eric Dyson called "Holler If You Hear Me"....another source worth checking out is the movie "Tupac Resurrection".
And yeah, that's the story about the first shooting. Hey, I took the NRA Youth Gun Safety course and KNOW how to handle my Glock, so that won't happen to me, hehehe.
He really didn't completely start to spin out of control until he signed with Death Row. The biggest mistake he ever made in his life was getting involved with Suge Knight...who WAS a straight-up gangsta.

"KNOW how to handle my Glock"
You have seen the video with Officer Friendly shooting himself with his in a school, right?
Nothing like a pistol with the safety on the trigger.

Wasn't this sort of thing supposed to be fixed by Klintoon years ago with his Dress Code Speech?

Hey, I'm an old man and what little I do know about it I learned from
QUEENS REIGNS SUPREME: Fat Cat, 50 Cent, and the Rise of the Hip Hop Hustler by Ethan Brown an interesting read on the mix of real gangsters and the hip-hop crowd.
And yeah, that's the story about the first shooting. Hey, I took the NRA Youth Gun Safety course and KNOW how to handle my Glock, so that won't happen to me, hehehe.
Geez, I laughed myself silly when I first heard that story!

Knight was a bad man, for sure. By the way, the Lorenzo brothers were aquitted of federal money laundering charges a short while back, so they'll probably be back in the production business shortly. Unless, that is, the feds drained them of money trying to prove their innocence.
I don't know. Like I said, I'm an old man (a white old man) and in my opinion we old folks aren't supposed to understand the younger generations. That's what my grandfather told me anyway.
Isn't this the place where I start boring you with tales of the sixties? Ha, ha! I wouldn't do that to my worst enemy, let alone a fellow FReeper!

How distracting! Post the REAL pic! Boys have so many less hair style options than girls do. Give the kid a break. OMG...a BOY stands out b/c of his hairstyle???
WTF is THAT?
In HS, I was in the 4.0 range (I had 2 semesters of college courses that counted extra)...
Graduated college 2nd to an older woman (whom I really respected, she deserved first and was in between children and grandchildren) I was taking care of my newborn also at that time...
The woman I respect above that is the one that received an F in our sophomore art class. She was the most talented of the class, but the teacher was elderly and didn't approve of her (mid 80's) 6-8 inch spikey? hair (not really mohawk...don't know the word) She was intent on being a designer and truly hope she succeded.
