A great graphic, and we're making progress.

There was a time in this country when carrying a gun was not needed so much.

But before that, their was no need to have a license to do so either.

An armed society is a polite society!

48 states in a row have now legalized Concealed Carry. No states have banned it during this time (1980's until today)...

...yet the Sunday morning Talk shows won't let this wide-reaching national movement get a word on TV.

Where did you expect the NRA to manufacture the votes necessary for a "Shall Issue" CCW law? Chances are, the NRA knows the dems in the legislation won't pass any progun laws. Get rid of the dems and you might see a change in your Rights.

No kidding. I did a research paper on CCW. My instructor was stunned by the numbers of states allowing CCW, in particular the shall-issue and no-permit needed states.

I live in MD. The Howard County trooper chief is an enemy of the constitution. I couldn't get a carry permit unless I was a retired police officer or carried money in my job regularly. I guess my life or my wife's life, or my daughters or son's lives are not worth as much as retired police officers. Tsk Tsk.

In my house and on my own property, never unarmed, never, never, never.

1) You stated that they worked in every state.
2) I said they didn't.
3) You now state they probably didn't work in the state because they knew legislation wouldn't pass.

So did they, or didn't they?

Fact is they didn't. And they are also markedly absent now that Annapolis is reconsidering a state version of the AWB.

Maryland has long recognized that if they want to change the gun laws, that we're on our own.

1. They're working to get rid of the antigun dems.
2. Get rid of the dems and get progun legislators.
3. Get the progun Republicans to pass a CCW Bill.
4. Get your CCW law.

OK - I'm jumping the gun a bit.

The governor hasn't actually signed it, yet.

But hit your "refresh" button and look at the map again.

If the NRA doesn't help by putting money and 'boots on the ground' in the state, how do they hope to get pro-2nd Amendment legislators in Annapolis?

The NRA doesn't want to spend money in a state they feel they'll lose in. So they don't help us out.

There isn't much press in changing a May state to a Shall state because they still calculate in in their press releases as a pro-carry state. It makes better press if you can change a No state to a Shall state.

Just for grins, try calling Senator Paul Sarbanes (D-MD) office to express your concerns about lack of "shall issue" CCW in MD. Just don't be surprised when you get rebuffed by a steaming pile of inflammatory left wing rhetoric by whoever answers the phone. If you think I'm kidding, try it. I encountered it the other day. Sarbanes' office views pro-gun advocates as Satan's spawn and is not afraid to say so.

And if you do call, also express concerns about out-of-control illegal immigration and get ready for a violent response.

When you have limited resources, don't you think you should get all of the "low hanging fruit" first, before what you know will be the "harder nuts to crack"? Please forgive the analogies to the plant kingdom, but it's not like the Brady bunch, and their useful idiots in the media, folded shop already. State loopholes must be sealed off

Our enemies can still counter attack at will. Count your blessings that your state dumped ballistic fingerprinting. Do you think that Erhlich would be your Governor without the NRA's help?

From that great graphic in post 20, it looks like 17 states went from No Issue to Shall Issue... and one from No Issue to No Permit Required!!
