You know, there's so much wishful thinking on this subject that it's just ridiculous. Future generations will marvel at how the desire to believe in life besides our own was so continuously translated into hopeful-sounding "science" like this that makes it seem like life should be behind every rock in the universe.

Oh, I guess I'm raining on somebodies' parade. But really, life is interesting enough without indulging in such fantasies (at taxpayer expense usually).

I much rather see tax payer expense being spent on space exploration than on welfare exploration...

I am probably late in the thread but I have to put in my two cents on this.

You must have a very low opinion of our creator, I mean what a waste of space and opportunity it would be if that were true, that is we are his only creation. It is unimaginable how big the universe is I just can not accept that we are alone in it.
