Then you would condemn us to the status quo. The current process does not work, for us or the would be guest workers/immigrants. You know that we did have a guest worker program once upon a time. It worked pretty well. Big Labor opposed it and it was scrapped, leading to the current mess.
You can bet the current leftists in charge of the national Democratic Party will not settle for a guest worker program, they want a fast track to citizenship and voter status.

B. It wasn't Big Labor that stopped it, although they did make their presence felt. Back then organized labor actually cared about the scab labor being imported by big Agra in order to depress the wages of skilled, union labor. They opposed-did not facilitate-the dissolution of our borders.

Guest worker is just a sleazy way for our dishonest cowardly President to kick the can down the road to the next administration, while letting himself stammer about having "reformed" the problem - even though he will have massively increased the number of poor, uneducated third-world migrants in our homeland.

Actually, I've got no problem with a REAL "guest worker" program, as long as 1) it offers no path to citizenship or PERMANENT residency, 2) it applies to no illegal currently residing in the USA, and 3) no children born to any "guest worker" is eligible for citizenship. What is it about ILLEGAL that you folks refuse to comprehend?
