On the heels of the 500,000-person Los Angeles street demonstration, the illegal-alien lobby is promoting a major one-day boycott of American life to demonstrate its clout.
It is set for May May Day as it is known throughout the socialist and communist world.
It's called "A Day Without Latinos."
Organizers, like the Mexican American Political Association, are calling on their people to stay home from school, work and shopping and to protest out in the streets instead.
Protest what? I can only assume that they believe Americans have been inhospitable to them only providing 12 million to 20 million illegal aliens with comforts they never knew at home.
If you're like me, watching those 500,000 people in the streets of my former home town last week prompted a visceral reaction.
Who were these people flying the American flag upside down? Who were these people waving Mexican flags in my country? Who were these people trashing the country in which they are so determined to stay? Who were these people who don't have jobs that require their energies that day? Who were these people that didn't have schools to attend?
I'll tell you who they were: They were mostly probably overwhelmingly illegal aliens.
And that's why those numbers should scare us.
I have long believed that our own government is lying to us when officials report only 11 million or 12 million illegal aliens in this country. I think the real number could easily be twice that. And when you see the photos of those demonstrations in Chicago and Los Angeles, you start to realize just how potent a force those millions of illegals are.
We have indeed been invaded and there is yet no determined effort to repel the invaders, to turn them back, to stop the flow of more.
Our government is not abiding by the laws of the land or the will of the people. U.S. citizens are angry about this invasion maybe angrier about this betrayal of trust than any other single issue. That's how I read it.
The Minutemen made a splash for awhile, but I think it's time to mobilize 300 million Americans in an action in which we can all play a role, make our voices heard and turn up the heat on the politicians in Washington and the businesses that benefit so much from cheap labor.
Here's my idea.
If the illegal alien agitators want to have a "Day Without Latinos," I would suggest we plan a much bigger event one that would truly bring this country to its knees for one day.
Let's organize a "Day Without Americans."
You want to find out hot to stop the clock? You want to find out who really makes this country tick? You want to see who makes the trains run on time? Just try a day without Americans.
I think the illegal alien agitators have really goofed on this strategy. Because, frankly, I don't think their "Day Without Latinos" will be any different than any other day for most of us. But a "Day Without Americans" will be a day unlike any we have ever seen in the history of this nation.
It's not Latinos or any other ethnic group that makes this country great. It's Americans that do.
That's the message we need to get across. And the only disadvantage we have in organizing such an event is the work ethic of the average American. We don't take days off from work to march in the streets and whine about our conditions. We don't participate in boycotts over this cause or that, because we are busy putting food on the table for our children and helping our neighbors. We don't shout and cry and paint our faces and act like children we pay our taxes and keep our mouths shut and take care of ourselves and our families.
Well, it's time to take a page out of the book of our enemies and, believe me, America, we have some real enemies inside the gates.
It's time to rise up angry not against the illegal aliens who have taken advantage of this great country, but against the politicians who have not only permitted it, but encouraged it, all but handing out engraved invitations.
That would be the theme behind my "Day Without Americans." What do you think?
Sounds like a plan to me. But first you'll have to remind me what we're reconciling about because darned if I remember! What did we disagree on? Anything major?
I'll keep an eye on the news, and come down to bail ya' out (although the POLICE would probably take care of that one for you if someone defiled a Lone Star Banner in Texas). ;)
Why do I have to punish my employer to make a point!
There has to be a better way than that!
No, work stoppage at this level would hurt America, which is something an American would never do.
Actually I don't remember having a fall out. We were pretty much on the same side of things until Bush came along. I hollered NWO Globalist, and everyone else yelled tinfoil.
Cheers :>)
Easy Does It
The Pubbies made a pact with the Rats years ago - Let us have cheap labor, and you can reap the benefits of an underclass that would gravitate toward you. Now it's time to pay the piper. The Rats want to cash in their chips. if the Pubbies want to stand in the way of Amnesty, they'll probably lose Florida and Texas.
The Rats have 'em - 'check, it's your move Pubbies'
you don't know the difference between "immigration" and "crime" ... or how about "immigrant" and "illegal"? You are the one coming off like an ignorant liberal.
...and blah blah blah. You anti-American types are in the minority on this one, thank God.
I don't like illegal immigration either, but this is a silly idea.
I might get shut down or kicked for this...but with all due respects...STFU...
WHAT PART OF "ILLEGAL" IS SO HARD FOR YOU TO UNDERSTAND...???
Your sentiment makes me sick...and is an insult to the rule of law...GO AWAY...
Great examples!
Ronald Reagan was one of our greatest presidents, but his amnesty policy was a huge mistake, IMO. Actually, it was the procedure that failed. I understood his reasoning. I know an illegal Mexican immigrant who has been here since he was a toddler. He's in his forties now and as Americanized as I am. He is a family man with an American wife and children. He is the kind of illegal immigrant I think RR intended for amnesty.
I'm sure many like him went for the amnesty and deservedly so. But that isn't all that happened.
I've lived along the border all my life. I was stunned at the number of illegal immigrants I saw walking on Hwy 77 heading north out of the Rio Grande Valley once amnesty was offered. It was as if our border was completely open and what had been done in the dark of night was suddenly being done in broad daylight. The stream of Mexicans seemed never ending. These were not the illegals already here. They were newbies, fresh from the border. This was evident by the 'hobo sticks' many had over their shoulders with their few belongings wrapped and tied onto the stick. Those that have been here a while have cars or know where the bus station is located.
Reagan's amnesty offer caused a big increased flow of illegals at that time.
We can't do that again, nor continue to allow the flow of illegals to continue as is.
This guy is a troll...I would bet my cheerios on it...
I encourage them to have as many days without Illegal Aliens that they want. The only people that will be screwed are the employers that broke the law to hire them. The rest of us will do a little adjusting in our habits, but we will get along just fine. I think most of us have a patch in the backyard where we can grow a few vegetables. That's how most of parents survived during the Great Depression.
I fully support "A Day Without Latinos."!
The gov't should go one step further, by withholding welfare checks, financial and medical assistance, close the border and for one day refuse service to any person/family who doesn't indicate that is legal resident.
Illegal immigrants should be expatriated out of the country, without a trial, to ensure success of "A Day Without Latinos."
I have had a similiar idea for some time.
Let's kick it up a few degrees. How about a "day without whitey's money" i.e., taxes?
All people of Caucasian descent refuse to pay taxes and explicitly state that their refusal is based on the continuing abuse of the US taxpayer being forced to subsidize illegal immigrants.
Actually, it should be done the way it was in Atlas Shrugged. All the employers should shut down in protest for one pay period and see what happens. Just withdraw themselves for a while and watch wheels come off society. These illegals think too much of themselves. Where would they be without America employing them?
