I know the lumber business up there very well. Based on what I've heard, the only thing they're really arguing over at this point is the $4.5 billion in tariffs already collected by the U.S. The Canadian lumber industry has so thoroughly dominated the market -- even with the tariff in place (actually
because the tariff is in place, if you can believe it) -- that U.S. lumber producers are in worse shape today than they were before the tariff was imposed.
Go figure, eh?
