The article refers to neo-nazism as "far right." Yet it is at the worst in East Germany where the folks cannot shake their communist heretige, which is unarguably far left.

Both are bad but Neo-Nazis are more violent and dangerous than Communists.

Utter nonsense!
Everyone knows that there is no such thing as racism or discrimination in Europe - directed towards blacks, Jews, kulaks, Catholics, Protestants, or any race, religion or creed!
It's the Americans who are racist! Don't believe me? Then just ask any one of the millions of smug, sanctimonious, grand denizens of the Continent.

The Nazi's were leftwingers. As in National Socialism. They were big government, pro-state-owned industry, pro abortion on demand up to birth. They did turn around the German economy of course (not a common accomplishment for left-wingers). I put this down to the Germans becoming united in that whole "tomorrow belongs to me" thing. It's amazing what hope - even hope based on a malignant race myth - will do to an economy.

the neo -nazi's are philisophically not much different than your average socialist...except they're National socialists...not international socialists. They hate capitalism, corporatism etc.
Getting back to football...eastern block countries have notoriously nationalistic football fans. They are very racist, towards anyone or any team NOT from their own country. The football fan clubs are little more than organized thuggish mafias. Milosovic's Serbian henchmen would often use these fan club members to carry out nasty business.
