Maybe, maybe not. Saddam did nothing but brag of what he would do to any invading force. I think it's part of the Middle East ethos.
Military against military Iran couldn't last a week against our air power. I believe they could cause major problems to oil shipments and through terror attacks, but don't show me a navy that looks more like they came out of a yacht basin.
