What - and take the steam out of the immigration debates? They are much more interesting!

"I think this whole incident has been way overblown. Everyone should apologize and get back to work."

I think saying" let's move on" after she appeared on CNN and labeled the officer a racist , is misguided.

I think the officer and the Capitol Hill Police should sue her big bra off.

"Why help her? Let it die the quick death it deserves."

When asked on CNN yesterday whether Mrs. McKinney actually struck the officer, Mr. Myart said: "In our jurisprudence, there is such a thing as self-defense. I am not denying, nor am I affirming, that that happened. The tape will show what the tape shows. The point is, however, this incident would not happen if law-enforcement officials did not have the predisposition that black people should be held to a heightened sense of suspicion."

It seems like it's more than the cop's word against her. I think it's time to lance the boil.

I disagree. That may have been the way to handle it ten years ago, but she can't win here. Those on the left have made up their minds, as have those on the right. You won't change any minds there.

I believe there are a lot of folks in the middle who need to see this 24/7. This doesn't even pass the laugh test.

There are 535 in Congress, and many of the 435 change every 2 years (the House).

Not to mention the myriad of Congressional staff members. And new police come on the job periodically who do not recognize the faces.

She wasn't wearing her pin. She's at fault.

"There is another class of colored people who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs, and the hardships of the Negro race before the public. Having learned that they are able to make a living out of their troubles, they have grown into the settled habit of advertising their wrongs -- partly because they want sympathy and partly because it pays. Some of these people do not want the Negro to lose his grievances, because they do not want to lose their jobs."
Booker T. Washington

I would have figured as much from you. Now why don't you go back to moveon or DU where you feel more comfortable.

Everyone should apologize and get back to work. According to Brian Wilson last night on Brits's show the Cap Hill Police were willing to let this go until they watched Cindy's presser Friday evening....

>>>"Any prosecutor with any sense can look at this thing and understand that it's not something that should be blown out of proportion any further," Mr. Carson said. >>>

If anyone is blowing this out of proportion, it's McKinney.

Lets make the New York City case loud and clear Thru all of Our Outlets. A Councilman was gunned down and killed by the "friend" he took bypassed Security in Council Chambers and many children and others thankfully spared. Then Mayor Bloomberg ordered all will go thru Security including the Mayor himself. remember only a few years ago, two or more Capital Police gave their lives in the Corridors outside offices of Representatives. Representatives could go thru highspeed lanes with Iris scanning recognition. Representatives bypassing security even with their "pin" is outrageous, and should be stopped immediately.

The only person that's overblown it has been Cynthia McKinney by calling racism right off the bat when she knew she might get busted for doing something illegal.

Arrest her and immediately give her a drug test.

LOL - didn't you know that the rules the lawmakers impose on the rest of American society DO NOT apply to themselves? Where have you been?

Reported at The Hill:

All of the attention has some Democrats concerned that McKinney is drawing the limelight away from their policy goals and Republicans’ ethical missteps to focus on a momentary, disputed encounter in a Capitol Hill hallway.

“There’s been a lot of eye-rolling,” said an aide to a moderate Democrat who spoke on condition of anonymity. “The national attention it’s been getting has been unfortunate. It’s becoming a distraction.”

"The bottom line on this is that it doesn't matter if you're in the United States Capitol or the Georgia Capitol, the issue is racial profiling," she said on CNN yesterday.

What a disgraceful statement.
