The author of this cautionary story was incredibly prescient considering that this was published in 2006 during a relatively stable political period (B.O. Before Obama).
He accurately predicts Islamic, Chinese and Russian geo-political trends and events ten years in the future.

Russia successfully invaded Ukraine in 2014 and seized Crimea without any resistance from NATO forces. Sanctions have not affected Russia’s military modernization and effectiveness, ie: Russian success in Syria, and regular aggressive confrontations with our US Navy ships and planes)
