Pre-emptive Surrender of the Borders
The American Thinker ^ | 06 Apr 06

You can tell that the tide is turning in the debate over illegal immigration, because the advocates of open borders and amnesty are no longer arguing about what should be done. Now their argument has degenerated into a description of what can’t be done. From a dozen mouths this week we have heard: “we just can’t deport 11 million immigration criminals –even if we wanted to,” and of course the amnesty proponents don’t want to.

Well, how convenient. But polls show they’ve lost the argument by a 3 to 1 margin, so to them it turns out that the debate was pointless anyway. Only their plan is even possible. The world’s sole superpower has been defeated by a surplus of busboys and gardeners.

The follow-up

"What is needed is not a line of buses to Alaska, but a line of seized cars headed to the auction block."

I think we should also prevent the remittance of any money earned in the US illegally to another country. Remove a major reason for them to come here and you'll stop the flow.

All the while desperately avoiding any mention of the fact that if we cut off the illegals' welfare/freebies, heavily fined employers who hire them, and repeal the anchor baby laws a good chunk of those millions would deport themselves.

Emphasizing the "impossibility" of deportation takes away from the conversation we should be having, and of course the action we should be taking.

Many in the Senate and many more members of the House, desperate to hold on to power at any cost, are perfectly willing to sell out the Citizens of the United States in order to assure a future vote that will return them the power.

The first ones who should be prosecuted, jailed or run out of the country are those in the Senate and the House who would trade the rule of law for their own rule of power.

How can it be said that these so called representatives are anything but law breakers? When an elected official insists that the INS turn a blind eye to criminals so that a business in their state can profit at the expense of the legitimate Citizens of America, how can they be called anything but conspirators in an illegal enterprise.

The real change needs to happen at the voting booth this fall and in subsequent elections.

I know the record of both my Senators and my Representative.

One vote by them to sell out the United States means my vote, regardless of their party affilliation, goes to an opponent who promises to put the United States and its Citizens first.

It's funny, in my state (NJ) they outlawed assault rifles despite the fact there are over 300,000 owned by law abiding citizens, meaning it is totally impossible to go door to door to find them all, plus it makes the law abiding owner a criminal overnight. Despite these practical points, the government choose to ignore them and proceeded with the ban!! Now when it comes to illegal immigrants, the same practicality arguments that do not hold water for stopping gun bans, suddenly is applicable to stopping laws that ban illegal immigrants in the US!!!??? Revolution in my grandchildrens' lifetimes.

I'm figuring that your response is typical of many and that the November elections are going to become a plebiscite of sorts.

I hope the efforts in in Congress to get comprehensive immigration legislation fail during this session. That way, they'll have to take it up again in the fall and it will become an issue election.

I think this will be good for all of us who want our borders protected, our way of life preserved, and the illegal issue dealt with.

Open borders will be seen as a sign of weakness by America's creditors such as China and Japan and the OPEC thieves and will contribute to our investment rating and dollar index tanking. If "our" government cannot control its borders and allows millions of revolutionairies to run around unchecked what is to say that the 9 Trillion in debt won't be declared worthless.

Deporting 11 million (or more) would be far easier than administering this nonsensical "amnesty/guest worker" bureaucracy. But it's actually much simpler than that: Enforce stiff penalties on employers who knowingly hire illegals and allow state governors to deny benefits to illegals, then they'll deport themselves. I guess one has to be a well-educated politician not to understand something that obvious, but as someone else said, our elected "leaders" want to focus on what "can't be done".

This wall between local and national law enforcement is absurd.

This is a very valid point and it is imperative that it be corrected.

Simple solution, yet IGNORED TOTALLY.

Exactly. If one listens to our "representatives" there are only two possibilities here: 1) using Gestapo-like tactics to round up millions of "hard working" people (which is an "impossibility" anyway) or 2) give those millions of people "a path to citizenship" (amnesty, in effect).

All real solutions to the problem are duly ignored. .....and it seems to be working, as it appears most Americans now believe that our options are limited to the ones mentioned above.

Oooooh! I just had an idea...

We send 'white flags' labeled with the words 'dishonor before duty', or 'France was right', on it to the Senate.

Anybody want in?

From a dozen mouths this week we have heard: “we just can’t deport 11 million immigration criminals –even if we wanted to,”

The aggravating thing is, for most of them, it happened on their watch -- during their tenure in the Senate.

They haven't done anything since 1986 -- the last fix -- that didn't work. Now, they are parroting a similar fix -- that isn't going to work.

Until a Congress and a President deals with the initial problem -- border security -- the situation will continue to worsen. In another dozen years, we will see another amnesty for illegals.

The main point is: Neither the President nor Congress are doing their jobs in security the sovereignty of the United States of America. They are allowing us to be invaded and overrun with illegals. Then they feign helplessness to do anything. Maybe a mass number of electeds' resignations would help by making way for other leaders who can resolve the issue.

I'm about ready to concede that, while my side - the 'I don't care how we do it we will enforce our borders' side - won the debate hands down and are emerging with integrity intact, the other side, is slithering home dung smeared with the trophy.

And America loses. I hope their kids enjoy life in the sh*thole their parents created.

The Border Patrol sent over a million people back to their countries last year. Half of those were sent back by only one Sector, Tuscon. Imagine if all 30 Sectors on the southern border sent back a half million illegals. Deporting 11 million illegals can be done.
