Hey friends of Democracy,

I'd like some feedback on an idea for a VIVA AMERICA rally.
We need latino stars who believe in the greatness of our country
and the rule of law. We need speakers who will educate these
young "Anchor Babies" about the Constitution and what it means
to be a part of this nation.

We need a venue, financing and advertising.

VIVA AMERICA doesn't have to happen tomorrow. It can be an
on-going crusade to teach conservatism through music concerts and
celebrity rally's. The Catholic church should want to embrace this.

I will be back online this afternoon. But will welcome your ideas.

Supernatural.... would you mind fascilitating this while I'm gone?

His always... Jo

This is a great idea! I suggest Latina singers...the first who comes to mind is Patsy Torres, whom I met once and who has entertained at Fiesta Texas in San Antonio. You might do well with a Grupo Tejano such as Los Lonely Boys...

It's important for Latinos who are proud of America to speak up and be heard!

I'm here.

Funny you should mention patriotic Latino's.

Another thread up today was talking about the illegal's protesting. It said that Latino leaders realize that all the waving of the Mexican flag had backfired on them and that they are looking unpatriotic. The protestors have been asked to have an American flag to fly with their Mexican flag or to leave the Mexican flag home completely.

This was concerning an upcoming rally in Tuscon, AZ. Hispanic parents of schoolchildren are even forbidding their children to go to the rally. The schools have warned the children that they will be suspended if they leave school to attend the rally. Some children want to skip school all day and come in with a "sick" excuse from their parents to cover them. Some parents say they won't give their child an excuse to miss school to attend the rally.

I'm all for a rally but someone with a lot more money than I have will have to put it on. Or we will have to take up a collection. Money will have to be raised for security, insurance, porta-potties, a stage and a sound system. Vendors will have to be there to provide food and drink opportunities for the crowd. Speakers usually want their transportation costs and other expenses covered too.
