Mid-Level Business Staffers Hit Hardest...
Time Inc. eliminated another 250 jobs today in its latest, largest and, perhaps, last round of cutbacks.
The mid-level and junior-level workers shown the door almost all came from the business side of operations at a long list of titles.
"As Time Inc. continues to evolve from a magazine publisher to a multiplatform media company, we're continuing to look at our cost base and how to run our business more efficiently and effectively.
In doing so, unfortunately, we've had to eliminate a number of positions."
"But it's not just about cost cutting," Ms. Zelenko added...

Under Chairman-CEO Ann S. Moore, Time Inc. has slashed staff since December, when the publisher eliminated about 105 jobs, including those belonging to some of the company's highest-ranking and longest-serving executives.
In February, it cut another 100 or so positions, mostly from editorial.

TIME
Pink Floyd
Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day
You fritter and waste the hours in an off hand way
Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town
Waiting for someone or something to show you the way
Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain
You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
And you run and you run to catch up with the sun, but its sinking
And racing around to come up behind you again
The sun is the same in the relative way, but youre older
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death
Every year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time
Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the english way
The time is gone, the song is over, thought Id something more to say
Home, home again
I like to be here when I can
And when I come home cold and tired
Its good to warm my bones beside the fire
Far away across the field
The tolling of the iron bell
Calls the faithful to their knees
To hear the softly spoken magic spells.

You have to be joking right? Here's an organization that on a daily basis works to tear down America and lies to its readers. They are now seeing the market respond to their product. Come again? Im supposed to feel sorry for them...Ah..no.

If you think real hard, I think you'll find a golden nugget in there somewhere. These folks have enjoyed publishing anti-US (or even anti-Conservative) thought for long enough. "TIME" to let them get a real job like the rest of us.

Even their publishing company is infected and is seeking a cure from their tarnished name.
As you might know, Time Warner Book Group changed names (and owners) at Midnight(4/1/06) and we are now officially known as Hachette Book Group, USA.
NOT an April fools joke.

If their job is to push liberal and anti-American agendas then I can and will feel happy about it.
Maybe we should free Moussaoui and Reid, after all, they were doing their jobs.

This is only the beginning. The old media has a problem - they don't know how to be as dynamic, timely and interesting as the new media. They are trying to adapt - badly - and they are hamstrung by an old prejudice: they used to believe they had the right to shape opinion. The audience has rebelled and wants truth, not propaganda.
I believe media organisations, as such, will be downsizing further in the future.

And some might think I'm joking but I'm not. Frontline did a report on "The Insurgency" and interviewed such journalists.

I am happy when liberal establishments come crashing down. I would rejoice to see liberals at abortion clinics lose their jobs. But I guess in your world those people losing their jobs would be a sad thing?
Whether its performing abortions or writing articles singing the praises of the practice along with other liberal dogmas, I have no problem being happy about the demise of liberal strongholds.
I am doing back flips of joy seeing this. I am LMAO!! I think it is funny to see a magazine that spreads lies and hate fall to pieces. These people deserve to be mocked and ridiculed. They are reaping what they have sown.
If you don't think its funny, don't laugh. But you will not steal my joy in seeing one of the enemy's of this country fall.

And it was a sad day when the buggy whip industry downsized.
If the company wasn't being run into the ground, they'd still be profitable. Newsstands are chocked full of magazines.
Mega bookstores are bigger than ever. Time is a high profile magazine. If sales are down, it certainly isn't because no one knows about them.
It's like blaming "payola" or "Clear Channel" for Bruce Springsteen or Michael Jackson's new album flopping.
