Well, if Bill Maher says it's a problem, well, I guess it's true!

I wish Mr. Maher would take a long walk off a short pier.
This week.

Maher (whomever he is, I don't own a television machine) ought to be imprisoned. That's what would have happened with this liar and America hater during WWII. We knew how to deal with traitors then.

Didn't Ted Danson warn us that the ocean's would disappear in 10 years? About 20 years ago?

I wonder why we never hear of Ted anymore.

Bill Maher should be beaten with the skinny end of a pool-cue until he cries like the frightened little 5-year old girl that's living way down deep inside him.

Pubically....

On camera....

Now, that would finally be something worth watching on HBO.

I disagree. Getting hit by a comet or asteroid is an even greater risk. Bill should focus his energies on preventing that disaster. He should buy a telescope and spend his waking hours monitoring the sky for danger.

Scientists blame sun for global warming (BBC)

Excerpt:
Climate changes such as global warming may be due to changes in the sun rather than to the release of greenhouse gases on Earth.

Climatologists and astronomers speaking at the American Association for the Advancement of Science meeting in Philadelphia say the present warming may be unusual - but a mini ice age could soon follow.

The sun provides all the energy that drives our climate, but it is not the constant star it might seem.

Careful studies over the last 20 years show that its overall brightness and energy output increases slightly as sunspot activity rises to the peak of its 11-year cycle.

And individual cycles can be more or less active.

The sun is currently at its most active for 300 years.

That, say scientists in Philadelphia, could be a more significant cause of global warming than the emissions of greenhouse gases that are most often blamed.

The researchers point out that much of the half-a-degree rise in global temperature over the last 120 years occurred before 1940 - earlier than the biggest rise in greenhouse gas emissions....(Full text of article)........>>>>

Where's your faith in evolution, Bill? We've survived all these billions of years and now, lo, the evils of intellectual development have led to self destruction -- and only and intellectual science-man-savior can redeem us, but only if we repent from our evil ways? That sounds so religious. Let go of your thinking, Bill, and just ride the wave of progress which, as every good scientist and humanist philosopher knows, is best when it is absent of any intellect at all. There is no good or bad way to treat the environment. It's all relative to one's perspective. Just let go and let the naturalistic cosmos evolve.

True, but you can't blame big business or America or Bush for that.....and that's no fun for a liberal. In their minds, if it doesn't promote socialism then its not worth the effort.

That would apply to Maher, as well.
Remember him `back-pedaling', after praising the 19 Saudi and UAE plane hi-jachers? And David Letterman, almost in tears 9.13.01.

(New Rule: Global Warming is "our greatest problem")

You know.....he just may be right. The last time this kind of thing happened (65 million years ago), the Dinosaurs made ABSOLUTELY NO effort to do anything about it........and you know what happened to them.

Last Sunday on "60 Minutes," James Hansen, who is NASA's leading expert on the science of climate, delivered the world's most important message. He said: "We have to, in the next ten years, begin to decrease the rate of carbon dioxide emissions. And then flatten it out. If that doesn't happen in ten years, we're going to

The biggest problem with Global warming is that those in power will "believe" it is caused my humans. Man has very little effect on Global climate change. The Sun is the primary factor. I have followed this POS Hansen guy for years. He is a bitter and sick man. He and his ilk hate achievers; they hate capitalism. Hansen is promulgating a lie that will do serious harm to many millions of Americans. For that reason alone, if there was true justice, Hansen would forfeit his life. As a trained engineer who has written computer models, it makes my blood boil to think these idiots can believe these so called experts relying on flawed computer models can state with certainty that man is the cause. If anything, those that write these climate models should be humble at just how difficult it is to model long term climate changes. I have a feeling many of these so called scientists are concerned about "reality" but more concerned about funding increases or making the US seem the problem. It is criminal to have this taxpayer funded government employee (parasite) spread this lie. Hansen and those who believe we cause Global warming are NO LESS evil than Bin Laden. The end result would be the same -- the destruction of our way of life.

Question.

If we stop global warming, how will we prevent dying from global cooling?

Science magazine (Dec. 10, 1976) warned of "extensive Northern Hemisphere glaciation."

Science Digest (February 1973) reported that "the world's climatologists are agreed" that we must "prepare for the next ice age."

The Christian Science Monitor ("Warning: Earth's Climate is Changing Faster Than Even Experts Expect," Aug. 27, 1974) reported that glaciers "have begun to advance," "growing seasons in England and Scandinavia are getting shorter" and "the North Atlantic is cooling down about as fast as an ocean can cool."

Newsweek agreed ("The Cooling World," April 28, 1975) that meteorologists "are almost unanimous" that catastrophic famines might result from the global cooling that the New York Times (Sept. 14, 1975) said "may mark the return to another ice age."

The Times (May 21, 1975) also said "a major cooling of the climate is widely considered inevitable" now that it is "well established" that the Northern Hemisphere's climate "has been getting cooler since about 1950."
