I have to apologize again to everyone for my spelling. There is not enough caffine in my system yet.
I am working on the problem.

"If cigarettes are causing such a problem, then let's ban cigarettes," he said.

Can't do that because just like the smokers the government is addicted. The addiction is to the revenue instead of smokes.

I agree 110%.  But who said that?

From your post #40:

Rep. Randy Rankin, D-Eudora, who introduced the bill on Wednesday, asked that the committee not consider the proposal.

Rankin said he filed the bill as a statement in protest of the smoking ban.

"If cigarettes are causing such a problem, then let's ban cigarettes," he said.

OH! That guy!  I thought one of the posters said that and I couldn't find anything.  Thanks! :)

I think all of the state's bars and restaurants should be smoke free.

However, they should leave alone the privately owned bars and restaurants.

I agree. BWAHAHAHA!

The bill's supporters said they planned to reintroduce it next year.

A lot of MassHoles are moving up there and taking thier MassAss liberalism with them.

I heard it was jerkoffs from Vermont. Same deal, though-they move out of Mass;Vermont;California;wherever, to get away from big guv and taxes, then bring the same mentality to the states they 'escape' to. And that's sadly happening to a lot of states-Ohio is among them.

However the feared drop in revenue after the banned passed did not happen. The smoking ban did allow some exceptions, bars AND SPECIAL CLOSED OFF SMOKING ROOMS, so perhaps that helped in preventing drops in income.

Well, hell, NO WONDER.

"I believe it should be a decision that the business owner and restaurant owners make on their own," said Senator Carl Johnson, Republican of Meredith.

Damn straight, the gov. shouldn't be telling a business what to do as long as smoking itself is still a legal thing to do.

I know of no bar or restaurant in the US that is owned and operated by the STATE.

PUBLIC is just that, PRIVATE is what WE own. Apparently they think that PRIVATE property is their domain.
